Taylor Swift puts on an impressive show, which is why she breaks attendance records and has sold-out shows.
However, a lot of work goes into delivering these performances, and she has worked hard with a personal trainer to get into peak physical shape.
Her workouts are so grueling that her trainer, Kirk Myers (who is also the founder of Dogpound Gym), has claimed the average person would not be able to handle it.
“I want you to come by and try the Taylor routine soon,” Myers told a Vogue reporter in an April 2024 interview. “Though it’s really hard, some people would probably throw up or have to lay down on the floor if they trained like her.”
What Has Taylor Swift’s Personal Trainer Said About Her Workouts?
Taylor Swift has an incredibly busy schedule, so her trainer, Kirk Myers (whom she met through mutual friends), has made a “tailored” program for her. “We approached her training for the Eras Tour with the mindset like a professional athlete. There was an ‘off-season’ when she wasn’t touring and ‘in-season’ when she was,” he explained. Even when she is not touring, Myers says he spends up to six days a week with Swift in the gym “for sometimes two hours a day.”
Working out during her Eras Tour also required extreme discipline. “Taylor trained during the entire tour. We would average two times a week. In-season training was more about maintenance, and so it was more like stability, mobility, biomechanics.” Myers explained. The way Swift sings and moves requires physical endurance, and she certainly proved she has it when she performs, but even on her days off, she was back in the gym.
There is no denying Myers is incredibly impressed with Swift and has enjoyed working with her. He praised her dedication to her fitness, saying, “Her work ethic is just incredible … I’m ready to be known as ‘Taylor Swift’s trainer.’ I don’t think there’s a cooler title out there.” Later in the interview, he continued to sing the musicians’ praises. “Taylor is the most resilient person I have ever met,” Myers said. “It’s super-inspiring to see her consistently overcome obstacles and become better and stronger in the end.”
What Has Taylor Swift Said About Fitness?
Kirk Myers gave great feedback about Taylor Swift, and he has a successful track record with several high-profile clients, including Hugh Jackman, Tom Holland, Kaia Gerber, and Karlie Kloss, to name but a few.
Swift understands the importance of staying healthy and has previously commented on how it is directly linked to her happiness. “I always try to see what makes me most comfortable and happy,” she said, per WebMD. “Because right now, to have happiness, that’s the main priority.” She continues, “Health is a big part of being happy.” The Blank Space singer also understands the importance of establishing a balance (it can’t be all health and fitness all the time, and she has to give herself a few rewards).
“I have a need to feel like I’ve earned things, so when I have a week of working really hard, I get to have a day or two off, whether it’s from exercise or watching what I eat,” she explained. Fans will agree that she has worked hard enough to deserve whatever she wants.
