Anyone who knows anything about Kanye West will understand he is not afraid to speak his mind, no matter who he offends.
Over the years, he has offended many people. He is also not one to back down from a feud, and in the past, he has been vocal about the people who he feels have not supported him or disrespected him.
With that in mind, it’s not all that surprising the Praise God rapper would be involved in a diss track that takes aim at Drake and J. Cole.
According to TMZ, West has released a remix of Like That (a song by Future, Metro Boomin, and Kendrick Lamar), simply titled Like That (Remix). He played a preview of it on an episode of Justin LaBoy’s The Download. This is significant because the outlet claims that there is a line that can only be interpreted as an insult to Drake and J. Cole.
What Did Kanye West Say About Drake And J. Cole?
There is a sentence where Kanye West raps about Drake and J. Cole, saying, “Y’all so outta sight, outta mind / Can’t even think of a Drake line / Play J. Cole get the p**** dry / Play this s*** back 130 times.” Other notable lyrics include “Yo Dot, I got you,” which is a reference to Kendrick Lamar (who uses the nickname K. Dot). This suggests that West is taking sides in a feud between Drake and J. Cole and Lamar, who reportedly raps about them in the original track.
If there was any doubt that West was mad, his post on X (formerly Twitter) made it clear, as he shared an explicit meme about J. Cole. Ye also teased that this was not over, posting a clip from his appearance on The Download and following up with another message. “MORE COMING TONIGHT ON,” he wrote on April 20, 2024.
TMZ notes that it’s unclear if the original Like That rappers gave West their approval for his new diss track, and if not, this would not be the first time he has sampled songs “without permission.” The outlet refers to a case by Donna Summer’s estate, which sued the rapper earlier this year, accusing him of “unauthorized soundalike of one of her biggest songs … after it denied his request to clear a sample of the real thing.” The song in question is I Feel Love, and West allegedly used the sample on his track, Good (Don’t Die), which features on his Vultures album.
Who Did Kanye West Punch?
This week, Kanye West has been involved in more than just an online beef. Earlier this week, he made headlines for punching someone at the Chateau Marmont hotel in West Hollywood, California. The man in question is either Mark or Jonnie Houston, twins who are also successful restaurant owners in Los Angeles.
Either Mark and Jonnie Houston (it is difficult to determine which one because they are twins) are believed to have allegedly assaulted Ye’s wife, Bianca Censori. “The assailant didn’t merely collide into her. He put his hands under her dress, directly on her body, he grabbed her waist, he spun her around, and then he blew her kisses,” a representative for West told TMZ. “She was battered and sexually assaulted.”
West’s actions have been the topic of much discussion as the two sides of the story are revealed. TMZ also reported that staff at the Chateau Marmont hotel told them a conflicting story, where the alleged assault appeared to be an accident.
