Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue to build a life and career for themselves far away from the British Royal Family, keeping away from the tension and scandal surrounding the Prince and Princess of Wales.
They both have Netflix shows that they are working on simultaneously, and while they are mostly on the same page about important things, their children have been a point of contention.
Reportedly, Meghan Markle wanted them involved in the new shows, but Prince Harry put his foot down and banned her from showing them on camera. The Duchess eventually agreed with her husband, but it was, allegedly, an important argument.
Meghan Markle Wanted To Include Her Children In New Netflix Show, But Prince Harry Refused
While both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are familiar with fame and the pressure of dealing with high levels of exposure, their experiences with it were different. While Meghan gained fame as an actress in adulthood, Prince Harry was thrust under the spotlight practically from the moment he was born. After all, he was the son of a future king and the brother of another.
Because of this, he knows, probably better than his wife, the difficulties of dealing with fame from a young age, and he wants to shield his children from it. With both of them having upcoming Netflix shows, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly been at odds regarding the level of involvement that Archie and Lilibet should have in their new projects. Meghan Markle wanted to include them, while Prince Harry wanted them as far away from the cameras as possible.
While they weren’t fighting over this, “Harry and Meghan have not always agreed on how much they should expose their children to the media,” an insider said to The Sun about it, adding that “in this case, Harry has clearly won.”
Meghan Markle Accused Of Monetizing Her Relationships
As the Duke and Duchess reportedly argue over their children’s involvement in their upcoming projects, Meghan Markle has been accused of using her relationships to get more attention to her upcoming show, so she might have been trying to include the children in her new projects in order to appeal more to prospective audiences.
An expert recently spoke to The Mirror, implying that the Duchess of Sussex was playing up her interactions with her friends for attention. This is based on a Netflix shoot where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle met up with their dear friends, Nacho Figueras and his wife Delfina.
“It’s such a useful coincidence that, just as Meghan is said to be promoting the subject of friendship for one of her Netflix series, she is here putting on a very exaggerated body language display of exactly that type of relationship,” expert Judi James said.
“With Nacho’s wife Delfina we can see extreme signals of tactile friendship. When Meghan approaches her to either greet or say her farewells she holds both arms out rigidly and full-length, like a small child asking to be picked up and cuddled,” she continued.
Judi James also referenced Meghan Markle’s interactions with children in front of the cameras, saying that “With Nacho’s young daughter we can suddenly see Meghan showing more maternal signals of affection, wrapping her arms around her to enfold her for a close hug and even kissing her on the head.”
Overall, the expert called Meghan’s interaction with her friends “a very exaggerated display.”
