However, their friendship may be strained due to Emma’s new project, as she’s starring alongside Taylor’s ex, Joe Alwyn.

Emma and Joe are currently doing promotional work for their film Kinds of Kindness. They looked friendly while posing for photos, though they declined to make eye contact or interact with each other as they stood together for photos.

Kinds of Kindness will follow the lives of several individuals, including a man grappling with the absence of choice in steering his life’s course, a policeman unsettled by the return of his wife from a sea voyage, now seemingly transformed, and a determined woman on a quest to locate someone endowed with unique abilities, destined for a prominent spiritual role. The movie will release on June 21, 2024.

While Emma has a few references on Taylor’s album, Joe has entire songs dedicated to him, as the news of his and Taylor’s break-up made headlines in April 2023 after six years of dating.

As expected, the pop star’s new album seems to provide insight into their romance, which was often hidden from the public, a contrast to Taylor’s current relationship with NFL star Travis Kelce. Fan theories suggest Joe may have cheated on Taylor, particularly in London, and there’s even reason to believe the couple were engaged at a time, given how many references to marriage Swift makes on the alum and in its music video.
