North West isn’t only stopping at an album – the 10-year-old just revealed she’s participating in a new Lion King show for Disney, following in her parents’ famous footsteps in the entertainment industry.

This comes after Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have received backlash for seemingly pushing their daughter into stardom, despite her young age.

North Is Participating In A Huge Disney Production

Disney has unveiled the inaugural trailer for Mufasa: The Lion King, a prequel to the 2019 hit The Lion King. The show will be live at the Hollywood Bowl, scheduled for filming on May 24th and 25th, 2024.

Joining North is an ensemble cast featuring esteemed names such as Jeremy Irons, Ernie Sabella, Jason Weaver, Jennifer Hudson, Bradley Gibson, Billy Eichner, and Nathan Lane.

In response to the news, Kim posted about the announcement on her Instagram story and expressed her joy, writing, “my baby!!!!” She also shared the poster for the performance, prominently featuring her daughter’s picture at the bottom.

North’s new acting gig isn’t the only big announcement she’s made career-wise this year, despite her young age. After being featured on her father’s Vultures album (and its subsequent music video), it was announced North will be releasing her own album, though few details have been shared since, including when fans can expect North’s debut album to drop.

Why Fans Are Worried For North’s Well-Being

While excitement abounds, some fans have raised concerns about the appropriateness of North’s early exposure, sparking conversations across social media platforms. Some critics question whether Kim and Kanye are pushing their daughter into stardom, or if she’s pursuing a career in entertainment of her own volition.

One discussion popped up on Reddit, where users delved into the details of Kanye’s new music video featuring his eldest daughters and its implications for North’s upbringing.

“It’s just really sad,” one person wrote, while a different comment said, “She’s literally a kid, she’s going to end up like Britney Spears.”

Some comments even highlighted what they perceive as hypocrisy from Kanye; while the rapper has previously voiced his reluctance to have North participate in TikTok videos with her mother Kim, he appears to endorse her presence before a similarly vast audience in support of his music video.
