The Kardashian-Jenners have many brands and products between them, but unfortunately, many members of the family have been accused of stealing other people’s work for their own projects.
Kim Kardashian is the most recent of the clan to be accused of not giving credit where it’s due, as her Skims brand allegedly ripped off the work of a smaller designer.
Last week, Skims revealed its new spring collection, which includes a collection of cotton pajamas.
Promotion for the new products shows a range of floral pajama items, including matching short and pants.
Camille Charrière Accused Kim Of Stealing Her Work
While the new sleeping clothes were well received by fans in the comments, it wasn’t long before London-based designer Camille Charrière made a scathing post online calling out Kim’s brand of stealing her ideas. Camilla shared a photo of Kim’s shirt next to hers, showing the similarity. Both pieces have a strikingly similar floral design and cut.
“Kim K/Skims has ripped off the one project that I put my heart & soul into, waved my fee for, and put out in a bid to platform one of the few brands who isn’t greenwashing,” she captioned the post.
Camille referenced how her brand makes their clothing out of biodegradable materials – a part of their commitment to eco-consumerism – while Kim’s pieces aren’t available in similarly environmentally safe fabrics.
“Stripe & Stare underwear is 95 per cent biodegradable and the comfiest in the knicker drawer so jokes on you Kim,” she continued. “Worst part is felt reluctant to even share this because I feel the Kardashians do this kind of thing on purpose to create friction and stay relevant (whilst making billions). What a sad little life Jane.”
Kim Is Staying Silent On The Accusations
As a result of Camille claim’s, many fans took to Kim’s original post unveiling the line to slam her for seemingly copying the designer. “Omg a small floral baby tee??? Truly never been done before this is my first time seeing one,” one person wrote with an air of sarcasm.
“A white baby tee with a yellow floral? Thats available almost everywhere, i can get one at target right now,” a different comment said. “In fact i had one exactly like it as a child. Neither of you are breaking new ground here.”
“You can find this exact tee literally everywhere including Walmart,” another comment added, while a different one wrote, “I don’t think you can rip off small tiny flowers during SPRING.”
For now, Kim hasn’t commented on the allegations, though this isn’t the only time her Skims brand has been accused of stealing other people’s work. Just last year, one of the brand’s full-length gowns was said to be a rip-off of an Agent Provocateur.
But the Kardashian-Jenners seem to be dealing with a lot behind closed doors, thanks to the recent revelation Kris was diagnosed with a tumor, which was shared in the season five trailer for The Kardashians. Needless to say, next season is going to be an emotional one.
