The Kardashian-Jenners have launched many products over the years and Kourtney Kardashian is no exception, with her Lemme line of gummies and vitamins being one of her latest projects.
However, things aren’t looking good for the brand at the moment, as the reality star has been accused of stealing other people’s ideas for Lemme’s latest campaign.
Fans Allege Kourtney Copied Juicy Couture
Recently, the mother-of-four introduced a new tracksuit for her brand, Lemme, but fans quickly pointed out its striking resemblance to the iconic Juicy Couture garments. Kourtney’s tracksuit, available on her brand’s website for $150, is a purple velour set featuring a zip-up jacket adorned with a diamante pattern on the lower back. The matching track pants spell out “Lemme” in silver diamante gems across the rear.
The design bears a notable similarity to Juicy Couture’s signature style, which famously displays “Juicy” across the butt in a similar fashion. Fans were quick to notice and comment on the familiar look, drawing comparisons between the two brands.
Photos of Lemme’s track suit made it to Reddit, where critics didn’t hold back their thoughts on the brand’s new launch. “Lemme Just Steal This Design,” the new thread was aptly called.
“So…it’s a wellness, lifestyle, and now apparel brand? They are idiots at business,” one person wrote, while another added, “Why even bother putting her dumb logo on such an iconic design? Does she think nobody will notice?”
The Kardashian-Jenners Have Stolen Designs Before
Kourtney launched her wellness brand, Lemme, in September 2022. The brand focuses on offering a range of health and wellness products, including vitamins, supplements, and now, lifestyle apparel. Lemme is known for its emphasis on natural ingredients and holistic health solutions, aiming to provide products that promote overall well-being.
However, this isn’t the brand’s first brush with controversy. Shortly after its launch, Lemme faced criticism over claims about the efficacy of its supplements, with some health experts questioning the scientific basis of the benefits advertised.
Moreover, the Kardashian-Jenner family has faced multiple accusations of copying or stealing ideas for their various brands over the years. In 2017, Kylie Jenner’s makeup brand, Kylie Cosmetics, was accused by makeup artist Vlada Haggerty of copying her lip art designs. Haggerty claimed that Kylie Cosmetics used her work without permission for promotional materials, leading to a settlement in which Kylie credited Haggerty for her original artwork.
Kim Kardashian’s shapewear brand, SKIMS, has also been embroiled in controversies. In 2019, the brand, initially named Kimono, sparked significant backlash for cultural appropriation. Following public outcry, she rebranded it as SKIMS. Kim’s beauty brand, KKW Beauty, has not been immune to controversy either. In 2018, Danish makeup artist Kirsten Kjaer Weis accused KKW Beauty of imitating her packaging design for their product line.
These instances highlight challenges the Kardashian-Jenner brands face regarding originality and intellectual property rights, yet they still seem to bounce back, and Kourtney’s Lemme brand may be no different despite its recent controversy.
