The women talked about his apology video, as well as the consequences he could face, and about more women speaking up.

Ana Navarro asked the talk show to put up the domestic violence hotline before Alyssa, 34, spoke.

Alyssa said that Diddy’s apology was lacking since he didn’t name Cassie in the video.

“Part of the conversation I’ve seen since this video emerged is this question of, ‘Why didn’t she leave?'” she said.

“And I want to speak to that. I once was a victim of domestic abuse in a prior relationship.”

Alyssa clarified that the relationship is not with her husband, Justin Griffin.

“It happened once. I was one of the lucky ones where the power dynamics were in my favor — where I could leave, I could walk away, I could remove myself from him,” The View host said.

“In the vast majority of cases, that is not the case.”

She said that they use financial and emotional abuse to keep someone tied to them, as well as manipulation.

“Add to that that this is a multi-millionaire, incredibly powerful, incredibly well-connected person,” Alyssa added.

“She had no hope to get away from him.”

SICK ATTACK

Last week, a video of Sean “Diddy” Combs was released of him physically assaulting his then-girlfriend in a hotel hallway in 2016.

Sean held a towel around his waist as he chased after Cassie, born Casandra Ventura, who was waiting for an elevator at the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles, California.

When Diddy caught up to Cassie, he threw her on the floor and kicked her as she lay motionless on the floor.

The rapper then grabbed Cassie’s purse and continued assaulting her as he dragged her across the elevator back into the hallway.

A second video obtained by CNN showed Cassie getting up, grabbing her belongings, and picking up a phone in the hallway, as Diddy sat on a chair in front of her.

When she is done with the phone call, Sean grabbed a vase from a table and threw it at her.

The horrific assault matches the allegations Cassie made in the lawsuit she filed against Diddy in New York in November 2023.

Recent lawsuits against Diddy

Diddy was hit with a wave of lawsuits in late 2023 and early 2024 with allegations of sex trafficking and sexual assault. He has denied all claims against him.

  • Cassie, Diddy’s longtime girlfriend, sued him in November 2023, claiming she endured “a cycle of abuse, violence, and sex trafficking” until their relationship ended in 2018. Diddy and Cassie settled the suit the day after it was filed.
  • Diddy was hit with two more lawsuits a week later. Joi Dickerson accused Diddy of drugging and raping her and filming the attack when she was a 19-year-old college student in January 1991.
  • A second accuser in a separate lawsuit claimed that Diddy and another man sexually assaulted her and a friend in 1990 or 1991 then showed up at her apartment and beat her several days later.
  • Diddy was sued again in December by a woman who claimed he and two men gang-raped her in 2003 when she was 17 years old.
  • In February 2024, Rodney ‘Lil Rod’ Jones, who helped produce Diddy’s most recent album, claimed that the mogul sexually harassed, drugged, and threatened him from September 2022 to November 2023 as they worked together.

Cassie alleged that an “extremely intoxicated” Sean “punched her in the face, giving her a black eye” in 2016.

In the lawsuit, she claimed that Diddy paid the hotel $50,000 for the footage.

‘I’M TRULY SORRY’

Sean broke his silence and released an apology video days after the hotel video was released.

He started off the Instagram video on Sunday by saying it was “so difficult” to reflect on the “darkest times of your life.”

“I was f**ked up,” Diddy admitted.

“I mean I hit rock bottom but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable.”

He went on to say he is disgusted by his actions.

Sean then claimed that he sought help after the incident.

“I went and I sought out professional help and had to go to therapy, had to go to rehab. Had to ask God for his mercy and grace,” he said.

Diddy then apologized and said that he is committed to being a better man.

He ended the video by saying he wasn’t asking for forgiveness.
