Lenny Kravitz isn’t directly commenting on the Mariah Carey rumors, but he seemed to imply he’s still single after revealing he remains celibate.

Kravitz shared rare insights into his personal life during an interview with The Guardian, released on Thursday, May 30.

He revealed he has not engaged in a serious romantic relationship for nine years and continues to practice celibacy as he waits for the right partner.

“Yes. It’s a spiritual thing,” Kravitz explained when discussing his decision to remain celibate.

“They’ve been super close over the years, and they have a lot in common so it’s not surprising that they could have taken their friendship to the next level,” they continued. “Everyone who knows them personally in the music industry is buzzing about it — and wants it to be true!”

Mariah and Lenny have maintained a deep-rooted friendship that began long before either achieved stardom. During their early careers as budding musicians, they often visited the same sports bar in New York City, where they would share and critique each other’s demo tapes.
