Khloe Kardashian recently celebrated her daughter True’s huge milestone, a the 6-year-old recently landed a modeling contract.
While this could boost True’s career, despite her tender age, not all fans think it’s a good idea for Khloe to be exposing her daughter to the spotlight more than she already is.
On Monday, Khloe made the revelation to her Instagram followers with an excited video.
True, surrounded by stuffed bears, started the clip with, “Hey guys, I have an announcement. I’m the face of Zip N’ Bear!”
Khloe then chimed in, “True is so excited to be the new face of Zip N’ Bear. She loves these jams, and she’s even more thrilled that Little Zippy, who you can snuggle and cuddle with, has matching pajamas.”
True enthusiastically told viewers, “You can buy the bear and you can wear matching pajamas.”
Why Fans Criticized True’s New Modeling Gig
While Khloe and True were clearly excited about the new modeling gig, not all fans shared their enthusiasm. Some expressed their displeasure in the comments, suggesting True is too young to be working, especially since Khloe’s mulit-million dollar net worth means they don’t need the money.
One user remarked, “Wtf she’s a kid shouldn’t be working,” while another suggested, “Why don’t you teach her about helping others and donate proceeds to charity?”
Another critical comment read, “Oh gosh, the kartrashians are throwing their nepo kids down our throat. Will they ever go away?” A fourth person added, “Umm no. Can’t you make your millions of dollars somewhere else?”.
Kim Was Also Slammed For Pushing Her Kids Into Fame
Khloe’s older sister Kim Kardashian has also faced criticism for how much she puts her kids in the limelight, even being accused of monetizing her children and using their likeness to boost their fame.
Last August, Kim was slammed for sharing a ton of photos of daughter North, 10, during a trip to Japan, without featuring her other kids. Some comments suggested this was intentional, since North is the most profitable.
A conversation on Reddit reflected these concerns, with one user voicing a common sentiment: “Doesn’t she have other children?” The main point of discussion was that North seemed to be receiving most of the attention, while her siblings were less prominently featured.
“North is the oldest girl of Kim’s children, which makes her able to be… profitable now, hence why she posts her so much,” one person commented. “She is trying to get a head start on marketing North’s ‘brand’ while she is still young…”
Given that Kim Kardashian reportedly earns up to $1 million from a single sponsored post, it’s clear that her social media presence can be extremely lucrative, and may underscore why there might be a focus on North in Kim’s posts.
North has also faced nepo baby claims, like her cousin True, with her live Lion King performance at the Rose Bowl fell flat earlier this month. Many critics accused the pre-teen of only getting the role because of her famous parents, not talent. Kim hasn’t responded to the backlash.
