Angelina Pivarnick is making headlines again, but not for the reasons she’d hoped.
The Jersey Shore Family Vacation star made her way to court on Tuesday, where she entered a not guilty plea related to her June arrest.
Angelina Is Fighting The Charges
The drama began last month on June 2, when Angelina found herself in hot water with multiple charges, including Simple Assault, Criminal Mischief, Obstructing the Administration of Law, and Resisting Arrest. The incident unfolded at her New Jersey home, which she shares with fiancé Vinny Tortorella.
In an unexpected twist, Angelina managed to stay out of Monmouth County Jail. She was instead released with a citation because of the nature of the charges.
During her initial court hearing on Tuesday, Angelina’s legal representative, James Leonard, confirmed that his client was entering a plea of not guilty. The judge agreed to reschedule the case in hopes of reaching a resolution. Angelina participated in the hearing via a virtual platform with her attorney, while Vinny was reported to have been intermittently present.
Angelina Is Being Charged After A Domestic Violence Incident
Following Angelina’s arrest, her lawyer attributed her behavior to an adverse reaction to over-the-counter medication. However, it was later disclosed that police were summoned to the couple’s home following a domestic violence call. When officers arrived, Angelina reportedly attempted to prevent them from entering the premises to investigate, leading to the charge of obstruction.
Angelina now faces a Simple Assault charge for allegedly hitting a male victim—whose name was omitted from the police report—with her “hands/fists, causing scratches and complaints of pain to the victim’s hands.” The victim reportedly sustained “bodily injury” from the alleged incident.
The charge of Resisting Arrest was brought against Angelina for allegedly pulling her arms away and failing to follow police instructions once detained. Additionally, she was charged with Criminal Mischief for reportedly damaging the victim’s car with her hands, resulting in damages of $500 or less.
Angelina’s next court date is scheduled for August 20.
