Sam M. kicked off Jenn Tran’s season of The Bachelorette with a bang, snagging the coveted first impression rose.
However, his initial charm might have taken a nosedive during their first solo adventure.
In an exclusive sneak peek from the July 29 episode, we see Jenn, 26, and Sam M., 27, in New Zealand, soaking in the stunning views from the Auckland SkyJump & SkyWalk.
When given the choice to either leisurely stroll around the building or take a leap of faith, Jenn, a physician assistant student, sweetly suggests, “A walk sounds lovely.”
Jenn Was Upset With How Sam Handled Their Date
Sam M., a contractor, had other plans. With a bold grin, he tells the employee, “No, we would like to jump.”
Jenn’s reaction? Not thrilled. “Without even asking me, he made a decision for the both of us. I think he needs to be doing a better job of reading my emotions right now,” she says, her frustration evident.
Sam M., on the other hand, thought he was helping. “I want her to be comfortable being uncomfortable,” he explains in an on-camera interview. Yet, Jenn felt more abandoned than adventurous.
“I am clearly terrified and Sam’s not reading my emotions at all,” she confides to the cameras. “I feel like I’m up here all by myself.”
Sam Is Clashing With The Other Men
The drama didn’t end there. In the July 22 episode of The Bachelorette, Sam M. clashed with Devin during a group date, leading to a heated confrontation.
“You say mutual respect, but you don’t believe that,” Devin, 28, accuses Sam M., his tone sharp.
Sam M. wasn’t having it. “I don’t respect you,” he fires back at the freight company owner. “I got nothing to say to you. We are not going to be friends.”
Their spat intensified after Aaron left, ominously cautioning Jenn about some suitors possibly not being ready for a commitment. “I don’t respect you, I don’t like you, I want nothing to do with this,” Sam M. reiterates to Devin, leaving no room for reconciliation.
Meanwhile, Sam N. dropped a bombshell during the group date, declaring he was falling in love with Jenn. This revelation stunned everyone, including Thomas N., 31, who called it “intense” and “premature.”
“These are some big, big statements to be making so early on,” Jenn reflects in an on-camera interview. “It does feel very early, but it also feels kind of good because at the end of the day, I am here for love and to find my person.”
