Shania Twain has fans pleading with her to tone down her on-stage look after she took the stage in a wig and tuxedo jacket.

The country singer has been accused of going to extremes to appear young and garner attention from fans.

Shania, 58, posted a video on social media of her on stage in a long, blonde wig with a black tuxedo jacket and top hat on.

She shared the clip along with an announcement.

“Not only am I hosting the @peopleschoice #PCCAs this year which is already exciting in itself BUT I just found out my Las Vegas residency ‘Come On Over – All The Hits’ is nominated for Concert Tour of 2024!! Giddy up and get voting!” she shared with her fans.

While some fans were simply thrilled with the news, others were distracted by Shania’s appearance.

She’s been facing backlash for her over-the-top stage looks, many of which include elaborate wigs.

“Lose the wigs and costumes,” one person posted.

Shania also received a lot of praise for her appearance.

“So sexy shania,” one supporter gushed.

“Congratulations, you deserve it for your beauty, talent and eternal successes,” a second praised.

FASHION FAUX PAS

This isn’t the first time Shania has faced criticism over her appearance.

Earlier this month, she was slammed for her unusual style of dress and accused of trying to appear younger than she is.

The backlash came after she posted a photo of herself and Yung Gravy backstage ahead of her Louisville, Kentucky, performance.

Shania wore a small sequin silver dress with black stockings and pink boots with tall heels.

She completed the look with a black fuzzy jacket on top.

Yung Gravy wore a similar outfit, but instead of a dress and tights, he wore a shirt and black pants.

“When I said, ‘Honey, I’m home and I had a hard day, pour me a cold one’ @yunggravy brought me a case of claws,” her caption read.

“Congratulations on the new album Gravy, getting to know you through it has been a joy (not to mention so much fun, I haven’t laughed so much!) ‘Serving Country’ is out now.”

She also shared a video alongside the 28-year-old rapper.

In the clip, she wore a sheer light pink dress with silver fringe.

The dress was short and had strips of fabric hanging from her arms.

She paired the dress with sparkly cowboy boots.

Shania told the rapper to say something after she admitted that she loved his voice, at which point he suggested the collab on some music.

“Yes, we should. Your voice and mine would be amazing,” she said.

FASHION BACKLASH

In the comments on the post, fans accused Shania of trying desperately to stay relevant.

“You are trying to remain young and relevant!!!!! Not gonna work,” one critic commented.

“Dressed so weird!!!” critiqued another.

Someone else replied to that comment, “I will always be her fan for 25 years but lately I think she’s just weird for me, her act and her looks. Sorry to say that.”

“Why does she keep wearing these stupid wigs she looks ridiculous!” slammed another.

Shania has stepped out on several occasions in body suits and short dresses.

While some fans gush over her good looks, claiming she hasn’t aged in years, others slam her.

Her critics have called for her to tone down her look, opting for more elegant looks and praising her when she does.
