It’s hard to believe that it’s been 15 years since Michael Jackson, one of the greatest entertainers ever, passed away.
His life was full of incredible successes and some very public struggles, which made him a controversial figure for many.
Despite this, no one can deny his huge impact on music. Michael Jackson is remembered as a true pioneer in the industry, and his talent and influence place him alongside legends like Elvis Presley and The Beatles.
On June 25, 2009, the world was shocked by the news of Michael Jackson’s sudden death.
The superstar, known for his hit song “Thriller,” was getting ready for a series of 50 concerts in the UK. He died at his home in Los Angeles. His personal doctor, Dr. Conrad Murray, said that Jackson had stopped breathing and had gone into cardiac arrest after receiving a large dose of sleeping medication.
Despite the efforts of doctors, Michael Jackson could not be saved. He was declared dead two hours after Dr. Murray called 911.
After Michael Jackson’s death, many fans were heartbroken. Dr. Conrad Murray, his personal doctor, was charged with involuntary manslaughter following an investigation and autopsy.
In court, Murray’s defense said that on the night Jackson died, he had taken eight tablets of the sedative lorazepam, which Murray did not give him. They argued that when Dr. Murray left the room, Jackson took a dose of propofol himself. Combined with the lorazepam, this led to his death.
The defense team claimed, “The situation is tragic, but the evidence does not show that Dr. Murray caused it.”
After Michael Jackson died, Dr. Conrad Murray was sentenced to four years in prison. The prosecution said that Murray’s poor judgment led to Jackson’s death.
Now, 15 years later, Jackson’s final words have come to light. During the trial, Dr. Murray said Jackson asked for “milk,” which was his code for the anesthetic propofol.
