There are many stories about kids who look just like their famous parents.
From Michael J. Fox’s twin daughters to Julia Roberts’s daughter who resembles her, celebrity kids often make us do a double-take.
But Christopher Reeve’s 29-year-old son, Will, not only looks just like his dad but is also working hard to carry on his father’s inspiring legacy.
Sadly, Will had to face the loss of both his parents when he was only 13 years old.
What does a hero look like?
For many people growing up in the late 70s and early 80s, a hero looked like Christopher Reeve.
His role as Superman in the 1978 film earned him a BAFTA award for Most Promising Male Newcomer. The charming and handsome actor went on to star in three more Superman movies: Superman II, Superman III, and Superman IV: The Quest for Peace.
Reeve’s name has become synonymous with the iconic superhero, a role we will always remember.
But Christopher Reeve, born in New York in 1952, was more than just an actor; he was also a director, producer, screenwriter, equestrian, and activist.
**Christopher Reeve’s Accident**
On May 27, 1995, Christopher Reeve’s life changed forever.
During a horse riding competition in Culpeper, Virginia, he fell off his horse and injured his spinal cord.
Millions of fans and family members were shocked when the beloved actor became paralyzed from the neck down and had to use a wheelchair.
According to his foundation, Christopher’s mother even begged doctors to let him die by withdrawing his ventilation support.
The New York Times later reported that if he had fallen just one centimeter to the left, he could have died instantly. If he had landed slightly to the right, he might have only suffered a concussion.
Christopher was only 42 years old when he became a quadriplegic. He had to use a wheelchair and needed a portable ventilator for the rest of his life.
Doctors quickly said there wasn’t much hope for improvement and told Reeve it would be “impossible” for him to regain any movement.
Christopher Reeve was facing a nightmare. In the first days at the hospital, he was heavily medicated and delirious. After hearing the doctor’s heartbreaking diagnosis, he felt like his life was ruined.
But today, Will has grown up to look just like his father, although he has mostly stayed out of the spotlight.
Will has completed his education and is building a career in the sports news industry.
Now at 29 years old, the resemblance to his father is striking.
However, the most impressive thing about Will is that he is continuing the good work his parents started.
