The saying āDonāt judge a book by its coverā is well-known, but sometimes people need a reminder.
If a parent doesnāt look like what youād expect, judging them based on appearances can be really unfair.
Some people thought a dad was bad just because he had face tattoos.
But then, his wife shared something surprising that no one expected.
Expressing yourself is important, and tattoos are a great way to do that through art. Richard Huff, who is 51 years old, has over 240 tattoos as his way of expressing himself.
Richard Huff, who calls himself an ink addict, has a family with five children and his wife. His wife shares videos and pictures of him with their kids, but not everyone likes them.
Even though heās 51, Huff wants to tell everyone that his family is just like any other. But people online make fun of him a lot because of how he looks.
Richard Huff explained how his tattoo journey started, saying, āIt became an addiction. I started with my legs and worked my way up.ā Now, he has tattoos covering 85% of his body. Some of the tattoos include the names of his children and his daughterās lips.
He plans to be completely covered in tattoos in the next four years, and he finds the process fascinating, whether itās the pain or the artwork.
But having so many tattoos comes with challenges. Kids at his childrenās school find him scary. His daughter explained, āThey say, āah, itās a bit scary,ā and I say, āno, my dad is not scary, he is good with tattoos.āā
ichardās wife, Marita, admitted that she was scared of him at first because of his looks. However, as she got to know him better, she realized heās a kind and big-hearted person.
She frequently posts about Richard, highlighting how he loves her like no one else has. Marita praises him as a wonderful husband and father. With three children from previous relationships, she emphasizes how Richard goes above and beyond as a real father to her kids.
Richard himself shares, āI participate in the PTA, I go to all my kidsā functions.ā

Even though thereās a lot of info about Richard being a kind person, some people still criticize him. One comment said, āIām not against tattoos, but does he really need tattoos on his face like that?ā
But there are others who support Richard. Someone said, āEveryone talks about his face tattoo. He likes it. He got it. Heās a good father. Let him be.ā
Richard himself has talked about the negative comments, he said, āIf somebody can make negative comments like that, thereās something wrong with them themselves that they would have to judge somebody else.ā Adding, āThis is what we did and weāre happy. Weāve been together six years our kids are happy and to us, thatās all that matters.ā
Richard adds that while at times negative comments can be a bit much, it does not change how much he loves his family or vice versa. āHaving tattoos does not scare my children, it does not make me a bad father, it makes my kids get a different perspective on life,ā he said.
