Prince Harry and Meghan Markle seem to have hinted at the state of their relationship with the royal family in their statement about the Los Angeles wildfires.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been deeply affected by the raging California wildfires.
Neighbors were welcomed into the comfort of their home while they also volunteered at the World Central Kitchen over the weekend, helping serve food and necessities.
As Montecito authorities issued warnings to prepare for possible evacuations, the couple sent out a compassionate statement, saying,
“If a friend, loved one, or pet has to evacuate and you are able to offer them a safe haven in your home, please do.”
They continued, “And be sure to check in with any disabled or elderly neighbors to see if they need help evacuating. Some families and people have been left with nothing. Please consider donating clothing, children’s toys and clothing, and other essentials. The American Red Cross is on the ground helping those in need.”

Their statement also gave advice for those wanting to contribute to relief efforts. Meanwhile, royal commentators have been left curious about the stylization of Harry and Meghan’s titles in the announcement.
The Daily Mail’s Ephraim Hardcastle column highlighted the use of “Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex” as their titles, wondering why Meghan isn’t addressed as princess, despite being married to Harry. This same style is consistent across all public communications and their website.
The column also remarks how Meghan was referred to as “HRH The Duchess of Sussex” after Prince Archie’s birth in 2019 and her job title was listed as “Princess of the United Kingdom”. Fast forward to Princess Lilibet’s arrival in 2021, Meghan chose to use her birth name “Rachel Meghan Markle,” excluding Harry’s last name Mountbatten-Windsor, and left the occupation field blank.
This year, Meghan is set to be the star of her very own Netflix lifestyle show, although its launch has been delayed due to the wildfires. By dropping the ‘princess’ title, which she has the right to use, there’s speculation that this could be a subtle signal of her wish to step away from royal life – hinting that any end to the royal feud might not be close on the horizon.
