OMG! Queen Letizia INTERRUPTS her walkabout for the sweetest reason!

Queen Letizia of Spain has been greeted warmly by crowds in Murcia this morning – but interrupted a walkabout in the town to make a fuss over a tiny baby.

The Spanish monarch, 52,

looked typically chic in a monochrome ensemble as she joined husband King Felipe in Caravaca de la Cruz, Murcia, to mark the town’s Jubilee Year in 2024.

The mother-of-two oozed glamour in stylish flared trousers which she paired with a black and white jumper.

And her maternal instincts seemed to get the better of her as she made a beeline to meet some of the children waiting in the crowd.

In a sweet exchange, the fashionable royal was seen talking to a mother while placing one supportive hand on her tiny baby’s back.

She was then seen crouching down to have a one-on-one conversation with an excitable little girl wearing a rainbow cardigan.

Letizia completed her outfit with black leather heeled boots and a leather belt which cinched her waist, and accessorised the look with gold hoop earrings, while adding a touch of colour with a pink lipstick.

Meanwhile King Felipe looked typically smart in a navy suit which he paired with a matching tie and white shirt.

The pair received a warm welcome from royal fans who lined the streets waving Spanish flags.

The royal couple took time to shake hands with well-wishers who lined the streets in anticipation of their arrival.

Their visit coincides with Caravaca De la Cruz’s Jubilee Year, which sees pilgrims making their way to the town in south-west Spain.

The first Jubilee Year was held in 2003, with thousands of visitors now travelling to the town every seven years.

The Caravaca de la Cruz Jubilee Year has already attracted over 700,000 visitors, with numbers continuing to rise, according to Fernando López Miras, President of the Region of Murcia.

Speaking at an event recently López Miras, president of the region of Murcia, shared his excitement about the event’s impact on the local economy and tourism.

He said: ‘This is turning out to be the best year for tourism in Murcia’s history.’

From January to September, the region’s accommodations saw over 1.47 million travellers—a 5.4 per cent increase compared to last year.

The royal visit comes after Letizia was radiant in a pink power suit as she chaired the Instituto Cervantes’ Patronage with King Felipe in Madrid yesterday.

The reigning couple, dressed in sophisticated business casual attire, took to El Pardo Palace in central Spain to attend the Instituto Cervantes meeting.

Instituto Cervantes is Spain’s public institution that promotes the teaching, study, and use of the Spanish language worldwide.

Former journalist Letizia increased the style stakes in the boardroom in a blush rose suit paired with a crimson red top and matching kitten heels.

The 52-year-old complemented the look with a pair of striking drop earrings featuring diamonds and a singular ruby stone.

King Felipe looked equally as smart in a grey suit with a pink tie to match the colour of his wife’s outfit.

The royal couple presented the 2024 Cervantes Prize to South-Korean hispanist Park Chul before chairing the meeting.

Letizia and Felipe, who are parents to Leonor, Princess of Asturias, 19, and Infanta Sofia, 17, chair the meeting alongside the board of trustees annually.
