Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez are becoming more comfortable sharing their relationship with the public,
even though Selena largely stays away from socials – even admitting to not posting to IG for years, but only letting her team do it.
Recently, however, fans have not only been treated to little snippets of Benny and Selena’s romance online, but also in their interviews, as they haven’t been afraid to make their affection for each other known.
Benny Says He Didn’t Know He’d Fall In Love With Selena
Most recently, Benny made a confession about what it was like getting to know the pop star, admitting he didn’t see their romantic connection at first.
“I was the last one to know,” Benny, 36, shared with WSJ. “It’s crazy how your partner could just be sitting there the whole time, right in front of your eyes, and you don’t even notice, and then you have that Clueless moment where you’re like, ‘Wait, I’m in love.'”
Benny and Selena were collaborators and friends for years before their romantic connection blossomed. They joined forces for the 2019 hit “I Can’t Get Enough,” where they even played love interests in the music video. However, they didn’t confirm their relationship until last year.
Selena has also offered insight into their romance, like this February, when she discussed being with a partner who “respects” her.
“Without getting into too much detail, I think it’s just really important to meet someone that respects you,” she explained. “And I think it’s really nice to also lean on someone who understands the world that I live in. But I’d have to say overall it’s the safest that I feel and it’s been really lovely and I’ve only grown through it, so it’s awesome.”
Selena’s Friends And Family Apparently Love Benny
Another sign it’s going well is that Selena’s friends and family apparently love Benny, especially following her tumultuous, on-and-off relationship with Justin Bieber, which ended in 2018 with his marriage to Hailey Bieber (though many fans still think there’s a love triangle to this day).
“Everyone can see that they have a loving relationship and both sides couldn’t be more encouraging,” a source told Entertainment Tonight about Selena and Benny’s connection.
“Selena trusts him more than any other past romantic partner in her life,” they continued, adding the pair have “gotten very serious.”
“They are very respectful of one another and their relationship is growing in positive ways,” the source went on. “They speak their minds, appreciate each other’s art, and lift each other up. They both see a positive future together and have a desire to continue to move forward and have their relationship thrive.”
Selena has been vocal about her desire to become a mother one day. So, if things are going as good as reports say, she may have met her match in Benny. He did refer to her as his “partner” in his new comments!
