Benji Madden and Cameron Diaz have been married for over nine years.
They welcomed their daughter four years ago and have kept her out of the public eye.
Now, they have a new addition to their family. Cameron Diaz, 51, and Benji Madden, 45, announced the birth of their second child, a son named Cardinal, on Friday.
They shared the news on Instagram with a photo of artwork that said, “A little bird whispered to me.”
This news surprised many people because no one knew they were expecting another child.
In the Instagram caption, Madden wrote, “We are blessed and excited to announce the birth of our son, Cardinal Madden.” He added, “He is awesome and we are all so happy he is here!”
To keep their kids safe and private, Benji Madden and Cameron Diaz won’t be posting any pictures of their new son. They shared that he’s really cute and said, “We are feeling so blessed and grateful. Sending much love from our family to yours. Best wishes and good afternoon!”
The couple is very private about their lives. They got married in 2015 and had their daughter Raddix in 2019. They kept her arrival a secret until after she was born, only sharing the news on social media later.
When they announced Raddix’s birth, Cameron Diaz wrote, “We are so happy, blessed, and grateful to start this new decade with the birth of our daughter, Raddix Madden. She has instantly captured our hearts and completed our family.”
The couple shared their excitement about their new baby but said they want to keep their child’s privacy. They won’t be posting any pictures or sharing more details, except that their baby is really cute, even calling her “RAD :)”
A source close to them revealed that they went through a lot to have their daughter. The source said, “They went through so much to get to this point.” Cameron feels like this baby is a true miracle. It was also shared that Raddix was born through surrogacy, but the couple has never commented on this.
When the news about their second baby came out, some people weren’t happy. One person on Instagram commented, “Who wants to become a parent at 51 years old?” Another wrote, “Omg. She is so old, I hope they used a surrogate.”
Not everyone agrees with their choice to have a child at this stage in their lives, but opinions vary on everything!
