Carlos and Alexa PenaVega put on a brave face during their first public appearance since the stillbirth of their baby daughter.
The pair marked their return to the spotlight following the loss of their fourth child by gracing the red carpet at the premiere of their latest film, Mr. Manhattan, held in Lexington, Kentucky, on Wednesday, May 22.
Alexa And Carlos Were In Good Spirits Despite Their Loss
Alexa, 35, exuded elegance in a floral sleeveless jumpsuit, while Carlos, 34, opted for a more laid-back look, sporting a faded jean jacket, brown trousers, and a closely cropped bleach blonde hairdo.
Following the screening, the couple engaged in a lively Q&A session about the film and shared moments of camaraderie with their fellow cast members at The Kentucky Theatre. This public appearance comes just one month after enduring the loss of their child.
In the newly released romantic comedy, available for streaming on Great American Pure Flix, Carlos takes on the role of Mason Bradley, whose life takes an unexpected turn when he finds himself as the sole guardian of his late brother’s children, forcing him to reevaluate his priorities and choices.
Carlos and Alexa PenaVega’s relatonship began in 2013 when they met at a Bible study group in Los Angeles. They tied the knot on January 4, 2014, in a romantic ceremony in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The couple welcomed their first child, a son named Ocean, in December 2016, followed by their second child, a son named Kingston, in December 2019. Their daughter, Rio, was born early in 2022.
Alexa Announced Her Stillbirth Last Month

Though the couple announced they were expecting baby no. 4 last November, Alexa revealed she had a stillbirth last month.
“There are never the right words to say when it comes to loss, “After a beautiful and peaceful delivery our daughter ‘Indy’ was born at rest,” the said in a joint Instagram statement made in April, though they declined to reveal their daughter’s delivery date.
“It has been a painful journey. But in the pain, we have found peace. God continues to comfort and hold us in his arms,” the couple continued. “This little girl has already changed our lives in so many ways. She was absolutely beautiful. And looked just like daddy. Dark hair and all.”
“We can’t understand why things like this happen and we may never get those answers. Indy Rex PenaVega, you completely changed our world. You gave us the community we have been longing for. We love you [and] can’t wait to see how many other lives you change,” their statement concluded.
A stillbirth occurs when a baby is born without signs of life after 20 weeks of pregnancy. Our thoughts are with the PenaVega family.
