Chrishell Stause, star of “Selling Sunset,” had surgery after finding out her 15-year-old breast implants had burst.
On Instagram, she shared that a full-body scan showed the silicone implants had split, leading her to get a second breast augmentation.
Stause, 43, admitted she was scared at first because she didn’t know if the rupture could cause any problems.
She explained that she didn’t feel any symptoms and was surprised by the news.
Looking back, she wonders if there were signs but isn’t certain.
Even though she didn’t feel anything unusual, Chrishell Stause explained that just knowing something was wrong with her body made her feel mentally stuck.
“It’s strange,” she said. “I didn’t like the thought that I could be harming my body over time.”
Since her original surgeon had retired, she had to find a new one to remove all the silicone from her implants.
Chrishell Stause eventually found Dr. Josef Hadeed, a surgeon she felt confident with, saying she was “in the best hands.”
She advised her followers with older breast implants to get them checked, referring to them as “vintage” implants.
A ruptured silicone implant usually has a tear or hole and can often go unnoticed, according to the Mayo Clinic. It might cause breast pain or changes in shape, but it’s not believed to cause breast cancer or other serious health problems.
Stause, now over two months after her surgery, made it clear in her video caption that she’s not telling anyone to change their body but just sharing her personal experience.
