It has been almost eight months since the Princess of Wales made the heartbreaking announcement that she had been diagnosed with cancer.

Her brave and public revelation came as a shock to many, and since then, the royal family has faced numerous challenges.

Royal biographers have noted that one part of her statement, though, seemed to defy royal tradition.

Traditionally, members of the royal family are expected to carry on with their duties without revealing too much of their personal lives, especially when it comes to health issues.

However, the Princess’s decision to speak openly about her diagnosis broke that convention and has been seen by some as a turning point in how royals engage with the public on deeply personal matters.

In a sad turn of events, the royal family has seen its popularity take a significant dip. New figures from Ipsos, based on a survey of over 1,000 British adults aged 18 to 75 conducted between November 8 and 11, reveal a concerning decline in support for several members of the royal family over the last two months. Princess Catherine remains second in terms of popularity, with 64% of respondents expressing a favorable view of her. However, this marks a slight drop from her 66% favorability rating in September.

Meanwhile, King Charles has dropped to fourth place, seeing his favorability decrease by five points to just over 50%. Queen Camilla, who ranked sixth, experienced the largest drop in favorability among the royal family, while Princess Anne, who ranked third, saw a decline of seven points. The only royal family members whose popularity remained steady were the Prince of Wales, who came in first with a 65% favorability rating, and Princess Catherine, who retained her position in second.
