In her 60s, Julia Louis-Dreyfus has added yet another chapter to her career thanks to Tuesday.
She’s come a very long way since her days on Seinfeld, and continues to be a powerhouse in the business.
In truth, Julia doesn’t need to work, especially given her billionaire status.
Yet, she’s making the rounds with various interviews, and her words are making quite an impact.
We’ll reveal what she recently said alongside Seth Meyers, and why fans praised her for the interview. In addition, we’ll reveal Dreyfus’ recent words against Jerry Seinfeld, and why fans applauded her stance on GMA.
Fans Love That Despite An Inheritance Worth Billions, Julia Louis-Dreyfus Still Doesn’t Take Herself Too Seriously
Julia Louis-Dreyfus has an impressive net worth valued at $250 million. However, that number is likely to be inflated once her inheritance is fully transferred. Gérard Louis-Dreyfus passed away in 2016, and left behind a fortune of $3.4 billion. Still, that hasn’t stopped Julia from continuing her legacy in Hollywood, and in addition, she’s still as humble as ever.
That was on full display during an interview with Seth Meyers most recently. Fans loved the fact that Julia is still completely relatable, and was willing to go drink for drink with Seth Meyers.
“You were kind enough to go day drinking with me,” Meyers says. “Wasn’t I. And I have to say, the day before we did it, I seriously considered pulling out of it.” Dreyfus admits she had anxiety about drinking. “I was watching more of these things, and I was like, I don’t want to be out of control. I was thinking how can I do this, without being a problem.”
Ultimately, it was Meyers who wasn’t able to keep up. His demise took place early on after he chugged a Martini. Dreyfus was able to stay composed, while Seth struggled out of the gate.
Fans had a blast with the conversation between the two. Most comments had nothing but praise for Dreyfus, and the fact that she’s stayed humble and full of humility throughout her career. That includes struggles with her health.
- Fans wrote on YouTube:
- “A total legend. Anything she’s in is better for it.”
- “A true billionaire who never, ever mentions about her inherited wealth and name. She created a name and wealth for and by her own. Very classy.”
- “Need that day drinking episode immediately.”
A great interview for fans. In truth, it wasn’t the only time Dreyfus has been praised for interview comments in recent days.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus Also Made Headlines For Her GMA Interviews, Disagreeing With Jerry Seinfeld
Julia Louis-Dreyfus talked political correctness in comedy, a topic Jerry Seinfeld is also all too familiar with. Seinfeld made his stance clear on the matter in the past.
A refresher:
“It used to be, you would go home at the end of the day, most people would go, ‘Oh, ‘Cheers’ is on. Oh, ‘M*A*S*H’ is on. Oh, ‘Mary Tyler Moore’ is on. ‘All in the Family’ is on.’ You just expected, there’ll be some funny stuff we can watch on TV tonight.”
“Well, guess what — where is it? This is the result of the extreme left and P.C. crap, and people worrying so much about offending other people.”
Dreyfus, on the other hand, believes that times have evolved, and political correctness does make sense today.
“When I hear people starting to complain about political correctness — and I understand why people might push back on it — but to me that’s a red flag, because it sometimes means something else,” she said. “I believe being aware of certain sensitivities is not a bad thing. I don’t know how else to say it.”
She continues, “My feeling about all of it is that political correctness, insofar as it equates to tolerance, is obviously fantastic,” she said. “Of course I reserve the right to boo anyone who says anything that offends me, while also respecting their right to free speech.”
Credit to Dreyfus who, at the age of 63, has clearly evolved, especially when it comes to her thoughts on the current landscape in comedy.
