Swifties are wondering where Emma Stone and Taylor Swift stand after Emma praised Taylor’s ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn, even though he was put on blast in the pop star’s new album, providing insight into their six year relationship.
Joe and Emma star in the upcoming movie and have been doing promotional work to spread the word.
Stone gushed about her co-star in recent comments about what it was like working together, though she seemed to keep it professional, despite being a close friends of Swift’s.
“I love Joe,” Emma said. “We had to do some pretty dark stuff on this one, so it was extremely comforting to be with him because he’s one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet.”
Emma and Joe are no stranger to working together, having collaborated on 2018’s The Favourite together. Given they all run in the same industry, it’s perhaps to be expected that Stone and Alwyn would cross paths, and Swift may feeling nothing towards the situation.
If Taylor does feel a certain type of way, she hasn’t said anything. Stone even seemed to get her own reference on The Tortured Poets Society, suggesting their friendship remains in tact, even if they find it award that Emma has to work with Taylor’s ex following their break-up.
Swift also seemed to make a lot of references to Joe on her album, with fans believing they’ve found hints that suggest he cheated to Joe’s unwillingness to walk down the aisle. Some lyrics have even left fans wondering if the couple were secretly engaged before their April 2023 break-up.
Joe Refuses To Address Taylor’s Album
Though he’s on a promotional tour, Joe Alwyn remains tight lipped about his break-up with Taylor, even as Swifties are more curious than ever about what went wrong between them.
“Joe has not said one word about Taylor or their breakup and has been completely respectful of her,” a source told Daily Mail before the album’s release. “It’s undeniable that the name of her upcoming album is in reference to Joe’s WhatsApp group chat.”
“Regardless of what she does, he will still not respond because he has removed himself from her narrative and is very glad he did,” they continued.
