Grease star Stockard Channing, 80, who played Rizzo in iconic film looks years younger during rare appearance

Grease star Stockard Channing has made a rare appearance during an outing with friends.

The Hollywood actress is well known for her portrayal of Betty Rizzo in the beloved 1970s musical.

Earlier this week, Stockard, 80, was photographed with her pals playwright and actor Alexi Kaye Campbell and Director Dominic Cook in London, England.

The Grease star attended a press night performance of Hello, Dolly! at The London Palladium on Thursday night.

The West Wing actress looked decades younger in an all-black ensemble.

Stockard wore a long-sleeved black shirt and high-waisted pants with a colorful belt around her abdomen.

The actress wore her reading glasses that were attached to a gold necklace.

She also carried a crossbody bag with a gold chain and accessorized her look with gold bangles and black sunglasses.

The Academy Award nominee wore minimal makeup and her dirty-blond hair cut to rest on her shoulders.

Stockard Channing was born on February 13, 1944, in New York City.

While in college, she studied history and literature at Radcliffe College at Harvard University and graduated in 1965.

She went on to receive acting training at HB Studio in New York.

At first, Stockard dabbled in the theater business before making it big in the movie and TV industry.

In 1971, she made her Broadway debut in Two Gentlemen of Verona – The Musical.

In 1975, Stockard worked alongside Warren Beatty and Jack Nicholson in The Fortune.

When she was 33 years old, she was cast as Rizzo in Grease and worked with John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John.

Her character received a People’s Choice Award for Favorite Motion Picture Supporting Actress.

Since then, she went on to star in many well-known TV shows and films including Six Degrees of Separation, Up Close & Personal, The First Wives Club, Practical Magic, The West Wing, and The Good Wife.

Stockard has received many nominations for her work in the business.

She received many Emmy Award nominations for her roles in Echoes in the Darkness, Road to Avonlea, An Unexpected Family, The Baby Dance, The West Wing, The Matthew Shepard Story, and Out of Practice.

She earned an Academy Award and Golden Globe nomination for Six Degrees of Separation in 1993.

In 1995, Stockard got a SAG Award nom for Smoke.

Her most recent project is the miniseries Knuckles, based on the Sonic the Hedgehog character.
