“Iconic ‘Halloween’ Star Charles Cyphers Dies Suddenly at 85 – Fans Heartbroken!”

Horror fans are sad after hearing that Charles Cyphers, an actor from the Halloween movies, has died at the age of 85.

He played the role of Brackett, a character he brought to life over 43 years, and his work left a big impression on fans of the famous horror series.

Charles Cyphers passed away on Sunday in Tucson, Arizona, after a short illness, according to his manager, Chris Roe.

In a heartfelt message, Roe said, “Charles was a lovable and sensitive man.

He always had the best stories, and it felt like a full performance when he told them. He was a close friend and client for over 20 years.”

Cyphers didn’t just work on Halloween movies. He was also in five other films directed by the famous filmmaker John Carpenter. These included Assault on Precinct 13 (1976), The Fog (1980), and Escape From New York (1981).

John Carpenter expressed his sadness on Twitter, saying, “He was a frequent collaborator on my early movies. He was kind, and a friend. I will miss him.”

Charles Cyphers first played Sheriff Leigh Brackett in the original Halloween (1978), which has become a classic in horror. He played the role again in Halloween II (1981) and Halloween Kills (2021).

According to his IMDb page, Charles Cyphers was born on July 28, 1939, in Niagara Falls, New York. He studied acting at Los Angeles City College, Cal State Los Angeles, and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

In the 1970s, Cyphers appeared in movies like *Cool Breeze* (1972), *Truck Turner* (1974), *Coming Home* (1978), and *The Onion Field* (1979). He also appeared on popular TV shows like *The F.B.I.*, *Cannon*, *The Six Million Dollar Man*, *Phyllis*, *Charlie’s Angels*, and *Wonder Woman*.

Cyphers wasn’t just known for horror and drama roles. He played Fred Drake in the famous 1977 miniseries *Roots* and was the shop teacher Al Yaroker on *Nick Freno: Licensed Teacher*, a WB sitcom that aired from 1996 to 1998.

We send our thoughts and condolences to Cyphers’ family, friends, and fans who will remember him for his warmth, talent, and the many memorable characters he brought to life on screen.

The character of Brackett was important to the Halloween story, as his daughter Annie, played by Nancy Kyes, was one of Michael Myers’ victims in the first movie.

Nancy Kyes, who worked with Cyphers in both Assault on Precinct 13 and The Fog, shared her sadness, saying, “So sorry to hear about dear Chuck. My friend for many years, he was always kind, funny, and full of great stories. He will be greatly missed.”
