The shorthanded Indiana Fever stepped up in a big way Saturday night, defeating the Chicago Sky 92-70 to improve to 18-14 on the season.
Indiana was without star point guard Caitlin Clark for the 10th straight game as she continues to rehab a groin injury, and also missed Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald, who both suffered season-ending injuries in Thursday’s matchup against the Phoenix Mercury.
Yet, despite having several key players out, the rest of the lineup rose to the occasion—particularly two-way guard Lexie Hull, who rejoined the starting lineup and delivered 17 points, three rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
Her 17 points marked a season high, and she also recorded her 100th career steal in the WNBA as a member of the Fever—an achievement that drew a reaction on Sunday.
Hull has been one of the most reliable contributors for the Fever this season. She’s appeared in all 32 games and remained an integral part of the rotation—whether starting or coming off the bench—finding ways to make an impact in both roles.
The former Stanford standout is averaging 6.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.1 steals per game, while shooting an impressive 37.4% from beyond the arc.
Hull will continue to play a crucial role moving forward, likely holding her spot in the starting five until Clark returns from injury — hopefully soon, as the Fever face just 12 games left in the regular season.
