Nowadays, Jennifer Lopez is all over the headlines for her upcoming divorce alongside Ben Affleck. Years ago, speaking with David Letterman, the topic of discussion was once again breakups, this time with Marc Anthony.
Letterman was never one that avoided prying over one’s personal life, and the same took place with Lopez years ago.
The two had a string of uncomfortable moments together which dates back to the early 2000s.
It took over a decade, but it seems like Lopez might’ve finally got some revenge on Dave during one of her final Late Show appearances ever.
Sure, the footage looks accidental, but given her history on the Late Show, Letterman was deserving of the moment…
Jennifer Lopez Sprayed David Letterman In The Face With Her Perfume Years After The Late Show Zoomed In On Her Chest
Fans never knew what to expect from David Letterman and The Late Show years ago. The host had a soft spot for certain guests, while on the flip side, he was caught bullying and ridiculing others in the past on national television. Although Jenifer Lopez appeared several times throughout Letterman’s Late Show run, certain interviews were harder to watch. BuzzFeed called this particular moment jaw-dropping, and disrespectful. Letterman commented, “Jennifer Lopz is here and Matchbox Twenty.” The camera then proceeds to zoom on Lopez’s chest area. She took it like a champion with a sarcastic smile, “That’s pretty good – that’s pretty good,” Lopez reacted. J-Lo’s look for that given Late Show episode was posted to X below:
13 years later, from that very interview, Lopez finally got her revenge on Dave. Sure, it was completely accidental, but some might argue that Letterman deserved every bit of it. Sampling her perfumes alongside the host, one of them sprays Letterman in the face. The host tells Lopez, “What do these go for? I still didn’t get any. Shoot some up.” Lopez then sprays Dave in the face, “I’m so sorry.” A playful Letterman pretends that he burned his eyes. The hilarious moment takes place at the end of the video below:
Despite becoming David Letterman’s best guest, Julia Roberts didn’t want to be on the show, in fear she’d be ridiculed by the host.
Given their history together, some might argue that J-Lo should have gone in for a second spray…
David Letterman Also Sniffed Round For Details In Regards To Jennifer Lopez’s Divorce From Marc Anthony
David Letterman didn’t have boundaries when it came to Lopez’s personal life either. Now we take it back to 2012. This time, Lopez talks about her divorce with Letterman. The LA Times revealed the host wasn’t afraid to pry for information, despite the sensitive matter.
Jennifer Lopez is currently worth $400 million.
At one point during the interview, Dave asks if there’s any chance of a reconciliation between the two, “Having been through a divorce myself, I know that at some point you would think, ‘Oh, is it worth all the anguish and the heartbreak. Why don’t we just try it over again?’”
“Try the same one over again? I don’t know what you mean,” she responded.
Letterman kept coming, asking Lopez how many times she had been married at that point, and what it was like working with an ex. Credit to Lopez, who was able to handle the personal questions. “It’s fun because we know each other so well, but it has its moments. The same things that didn’t really work … sometimes come up.”
Of course, Letterman was poking fun and being his usual sarcastic self throughout the interview. Just another reason as to why the perfume spray to the face may have been legitimate, and no accident…
On The Contrary, Jennifer Lopez’s Interview Conduct Has Been Questioned In The Past
We have put the blame on David Letterman for much of the discussion. However, according to Meghan McCain, Jennifer Lopez herself is not easy to deal with. McCain referred to Lopez as “deeply unpleasant” during her interview on The View. McCain revealed, “I, too, share similar negative stories that the entire world does. I feel bad because we’re turning a point where there’s bullying happening to J.Lo. She just is a deeply unpleasant person. She had the biggest entourage I’ve ever seen [when she was on The View]. More than Kim Kardashian and the president. I just don’t really understand why it was needed.”
Meghan McCain also slammed The View host Sara Haines for referencing her on a live show.
“I was a host at The View, she was not nice. You don’t always have to be so nice, but it was surprising that people like Kim Kardashian couldn’t be more delightful,” McCain says. “When you’re coming on a show for a 10-minute segment… just fake it till you make it for 10 f— minutes.”
The TikTok video was actually taken down initially, leading to speculation that McCain had regrets. However, her team later revealed that there was some type of violation, and that the video was reposted shortly after.
