Despite all the rumors going around, it seems Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck might not be heading toward divorce after all.
The couple has been living separately for a few months and have put their marital home up for sale, but it was reportedly this time apart that made them reconsider their separation.
So, despite reports that she had given up fighting for her marriage, J. Lo is now putting a huge effort into fixing things with Ben.
Jennifer Lopez is already close to Ben’s kids, as can be seen in the recent pictures of her day out with Violet Affleck, but she’s now making a conscious effort to be more present for them as a mother figure and put her famous persona aside.
Jennifer Lopez And Ben Affleck Want To Give Their Marriage One More Chance
As she and Ben Affleck are working on fixing their marriage, one of the things Jennifer Lopez is trying to do is act more like a mom to her step-kids as they slowly heal their family dynamic.
“Jennifer is hopeful right now about salvaging her marriage to Ben,” a source told DailyMail.com.
“She would not be spending time with his children acting in the role as a mom to them if she was not working things out with him or, at the very least, on the right path.”
The insider also explained that the singer realized just how much the fame and attention bothered Ben Affleck and is now actively listening to his concerns and taking them into consideration.
“Jennifer has put work on hold to focus on repairing the damage that was done. She knows that she allowed her career and her fame to come between her marriage at times,” the source revealed.
“She is really trying to just be a good mom and a normal person for the time being because she knows that, at the end of the day, her riches and fame aren’t everything. She is hoping that it is not too late.”
Jennifer Lopez’s Bond With Ben Affleck’s Children
Although she might be trying her best to fix her marriage, Jennifer Lopez’s relationship with her step-children is by no means a ploy. She and Ben’s kids, especially his daughter Violet, seem to share a great bond, and that was something the adults were very careful about even during their separation.
J. Lo and Violet Affleck “have gotten close throughout Jen and Ben’s relationship,” a source told Entertainment Tonight, “and maintaining that closeness is important to everyone.”
“Ben certainly doesn’t want to cause any strain between Jen and Violet, and he is in support of them spending time together. It’s a little tricky for him, but both Jen and Ben want all their kids to be happy, regardless of the issues they are facing in their marriage.”
The previous source that spoke with the Daily Mail also revealed that Jennifer Garner had been crucial in getting them to communicate properly, despite her reluctance to be a “mediator” sometimes.
“Jennifer is eternally grateful for her help even though she has now taken a step back,’ the insider said. ‘But Jen was able to get through to her ex-husband like no one else could – even her.”
It seems there is hope for the marriage yet, and everyone in Ben and J. Lo’s family are rooting for the couple.
