Jill Duggar gave her followers an update on how she’s coping a week after her stillbirth daughter’s passing, though her parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar remain silent.
Sharing to Instagram, Jill posted a photo of herself wiping tears away with a pink baby blanket.
She included an emotional caption, writing, “I carried you for every second of your life, and I will love you every second of mine.’”
Jill Gave A One Week Update On Her Grief
Jill added, “1 week ago today we laid our baby girl to rest. We will love you forever Isla Marie!”
Jill and her husband Derick Dillard revealed their daughter was stillborn earlier this month with a post to Instagram. “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the stillbirth of our beautiful baby girl, Isla Marie Dillard,” they wrote. “Jill was 4 months pregnant (due in August) when we found out that our baby died in utero.”
“From the moment we found out we were pregnant, we couldn’t wait to meet our baby. Isla was much loved from the start, and her 3 big brothers were so excited to introduce her to their world,” their statement continued.
“We appreciate your prayers as we continue to grieve and heal from the loss of our little Isla Marie,” the couple concluded.
Jill, 32, and Derick, 35, are already have three sons – Israel, aged 9, Samuel, aged 6, and Freddy, aged 21 months. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the first pregnancy loss Jill experienced. In 2021, she had another miscarriage, losing a baby boy they named River Bliss.
In the wake of Jill and Derick’s recent revelation, the hearts of Counting On enthusiasts worldwide have been heavy with sympathy. Many took to social media, offering condolences beneath the original announcement or expressing their support through various platforms, tagging the couple. Jill’s recent post similarly was filled with an outpouring of support and sympathy from her followers.
Why Jill’s Parents Are Likely Remaining Silent

Curiously, a notable silence surrounds much of the Duggar family regarding Jill’s disclosure, including her parents, who haven’t offered any public words of support for their daughter. This may suggest lingering tensions within the clan, hinting at the ongoing rift that has plagued their relationships in recent years.
Publicly, Jill’s parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, have remained silent regarding condolences, leaving the possibility open that they might have conveyed their sympathies in private. However, Jill disclosed that she hasn’t had communication with her parents since September 2023, suggesting that not even her recent loss might reconcile them.
Previously, Jill acknowledged being victimized by her older brother Josh, along with some of her sisters and a family friend, during their youth. She also revealed feeling pressured by her family to defend him on television when his criminal past came to light, resulting in the cancellation of their family’s original reality show.
Subsequently, Jill and Derick penned a memoir, delving deeper into her family’s undisclosed turmoil, but also exacerbating the ongoing feud, which still seems to be alive and well given the Duggar parents’ silence.
