What should’ve been a fun night ended in a painful way for JoJo Siwa, who got punched in the face at her 21st birthday party.
JoJo took to TikTok to share about the startling experience.
In the video, the singer filmed herself navigating a kitchen littered with confetti. JoJo wore her hair in two braids and sported a casual outfit consisting of a tee, shorts, a necklace, and a birthday badge, appropriate for the occasion.
As the video began, she candidly stated, “It’s my 21st birthday, I’m drunk as f**k right now.”
JoJo Shocked Fans With A Drunk TikTok
Suddenly, JoJo dodged to the side as items were thrown at her from off-camera, clarifying, “It’s my bread I’m supposed to eat.” She managed to catch a piece of bread and then approached the camera to reveal a painful welt under her eye.
“I got punched in the eye, it hurts really bad but I’m okay,” JoJo stated, trying to reassure those around her with, “I’m okay, I’m okay!” However, she turned back to the camera and quietly confessed to her fans, “I’m not okay.”
Towards the end of the video, JoJo highlighted a collection of bottles behind her, beaming as she declared, “Here’s my liquor spread. Happy 21st birthday to me!”
In the comments, a stunned fan wrote, “This is actually crazy,” while another urged, “Happy birthday JoJo, stay safe.” Many expressed concerned over JoJo’s demeanour, and suggested she may regrets the candid video in the morning after sobering up.
Earlier that day, in another clip, JoJo shared that she had celebrated her birthday at Disney World with her mother, Jessalynn, and other loved ones. However, she hasn’t disclosed when or where the incident that resulted in her being punched occurred.
This Isn’t JoJo’s First Controversy
JoJo first gained widespread attention as a contestant on the reality TV show Dance Moms, though her fame further surged when she launched her YouTube channel in 2015, which quickly amassed millions of subscribers. Her channel features a mix of vlogs, music videos, and behind-the-scenes content.
Her music career later took off with hits like “Boomerang” and “Kid in a Candy Store,” both of which garnered hundreds of millions of views on YouTube.
Despite her success, JoJo has faced her share of controversies. In 2020, she received backlash for a board game released under her name, “JoJo’s Juice,” which included questions deemed inappropriate for her young audience. The game was promptly pulled from shelves, and JoJo issued an apology, stating she was unaware of the content and would ensure better oversight in the future.
Additionally, JoJo has been open about her personal struggles, including dealing with online bullying and negative comments. In January 2021, she made headlines by coming out as LGBTQ+ on social media, a move that was widely praised but also attracted some criticism. JoJo addressed the negativity with her usual positivity, focusing on the overwhelming support she received from fans and the LGBTQ+ community.
