Judge Greg Mathis’ Wife Files For Divorce After 39 Years Of Marriage.

The couple wed in June of 1985.

Judge Greg Mathis will soon be dealing with a court proceeding of his own, as his wife of 39 years, Linda Reese Mathis, has filed for divorce.

Documents were filed by Linda, 61, in Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday, Aug. 22, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, People reports.

Their separation date is noted as July 17, 2024. Documents also specify that the couple have no minor children, so custody will not be an issue.

The couple share adult children Jade, 39, Camara, 36,  Greg Jr., 35, and Amir, 34.

It remains unclear whether or not the pair have a prenuptial agreement in place, as they married after college and well before Mathis became a daytime TV staple on his reality court series Judge Mathis, which ran from 1999-2023. Linda is seeking spousal support.

The pair wed in June of 1985, with Judge Mathis taking to Facebook in 2021 to share a wedding photo and reveal that his bride was a major catalyst in getting his own life together.

“Age 25, marrying Linda put me on the path in the right direction. I hope my journey is a inspiration to others,” he wrote.

Their last photo together was snapped in late July at their granddaughter’s birthday party, with Judge Mathis sharing snaps from the family get-together on Instagram.

Neither Linda nor Judge Mathis has spoken publicly about their separation.
