Kelly Osbourne has never been shy to voice her opinions, no matter how controversial,
and recently she went on record making a number of eyebrow-raising comments on how she doesn’t think she’s likely to get cancer.
Opening up on Tuesday’s episode of the “Osbournes Podcast,” Kelly reflected on her past, admitting she’s hopeful her history of drug and alcohol use might ironically safeguard her against cancer.
“I’m hoping that I’ve embalmed myself so I don’t ever get cancer,” Kelly, 39 shared. “I’m pickled from all the drugs and alcohol, for sure.”
Kelly Made A Confession About Her Addiction History

Kelly noted that cancer is a significant concern in her family, as her mother, Sharon Osbourne, battled colorectal cancer in the early 2000s. “Apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree,” Kelly remarked, acknowledging the familial link to the disease.
Despite her somewhat humorous theory, her brother Jack Osbourne, 38, expressed skepticism. “I don’t think it works that way. But I’m no doctor,” he responded, casting doubt on her unconventional reasoning.
Kelly has been candid about her struggles with addiction over the years, revealing that her issues began at the age of 13 when she was prescribed Vicodin following surgery for tonsillitis. In fact, the Osbourne family has a long history of struggling with addiction.
Patriarch Ozzy Osbourne, known for his wild lifestyle as the frontman of Black Sabbath, has battled alcohol and drug addiction for decades, with numerous stints in rehab beginning as early as the 1970s.
Like Kelly, his son Jack Osbourne also struggled with addiction, entering rehab in 2003 at the age of 17 for alcohol and OxyContin abuse. He’s had numerous stints throughout he years while trying to stay clean.
Meanwhile, matriarch Sharon Osbourne has openly discussed her addiction to plastic surgery, which she has repeatedly undergone over the years, alongside battles with prescription medications.
The Osbournes Have A History Of Controversy
The Osbourne family, notorious for their turbulent and often scandalous lives, has frequently found themselves in the public eye for various controversies, with kelly’s recent comments hardly being the first.
Outspoken like her famous mother, Kelly, in particular, has been at the center of numerous scandals. In 2015, she faced backlash for her comments on The View about Latinos, saying, “If you kick every Latino out of this country, then who is going to be cleaning your toilet?” The remark was widely criticized as racist and out of touch.
Before that, in 2010, Kelly sparked controversy by calling her ex-fiancé Luke Worrall a “piece of s**t” on Twitter after discovering his infidelity. Her public feud with Lady Gaga’s fans, the “Little Monsters,” also made headlines, especially when her mother Sharon got involved, escalating the situation further.
The Osbournes as a whole has had its share of scandals, from Ozzy’s infamous drug and alcohol binges to Sharon’s feuds and outspoken nature, but Kelly’s outspoken and often controversial continues to keep her family in the spotlight.
