There was once a time when Pete Davidson got a tattoo proudly proclaiming that his then-girlfriend Kim Kardashian was a lawyer.

But it appears Kim has given up trying to become a practicing lawyer in the state of California, at least for now, as her business obligations have become too demanding.

Speaking to The Sun, a source claims that trying to become a lawyer is a “pain for Kim right now,” as she’s apparently realized how much work goes into it.

“Last year she slowly realized how tedious it was and how never-ending the study was,” the source explained.

“She can’t drop it without looking bad, looking like she couldn’t pass it after all the work and all of her talk about how passionate she was about pushing for prison reform.”

Kim Reportedly Can’t Handle Studying With Her Business Obligations

“She really struggled with the study, hated having to do the outlines and essays required to even be at a competent level and it was going to take her a few years of study to pass the exams and a few likely fails,” the source went on. “She did some midterm exams last year and they finished her off.”

Kim hasn’t given an update on her legal studies since 2021, when she passed the baby bar after failing it three times. The reality star has said she wants to become a lawyer to follow in her father Robert Kardashian’s footsteps (who infamously represented OJ Simpson when he was on trial for allegedly murdering his estranged wife).

The same source explained that Kim has too much going on with her various businesses, which includes SKIMS and her new investment firm SKYY Partners, all of which have helped her reached billionaire status. It appears The Kardashians star is more focused on growing her brands and net worth than her legal career at the moment.

“She’s been too busy because her various business ventures have rocketed,” the source explained. “Between the new PE SKKY partnership which is on a huge acquisition spree, and her own Skims businesses – they all need her right now.”

Co-Parenting With Kanye Has Allegedly Made It Hard For Kim, Too

The source furthermore alleged that Kim is also fronting the primary childrearing responsibilities for the four kid she shares with her ex-husband Kanye West, who has previously admitted Kim has the kids 80% of the time despite sharing custody (he pays $400,000 a month in child support).

“The biggest problem she has for not being able to progress to the bar exams or dedicate her time to study is Kanye,” the source explained.

Kanye infamously spent much of 2023 traveling Europe with his new wife Bianca Censori, where they faced criticism for provocative outfits and behavior. Recently, Kanye released a new album in hopes of establishing his comeback.

“Because he is such an unreliable father at the moment, she can’t count on or rely on him,” the source explained. “She can’t sacrifice time with her kids for it if he’s not doing his share of parenting.”

Kim hasn’t responded to the allegations that she’s put her legal career on pause for the moment.
