Kim Kardashian recently experiences backlash for using her jet to travel to Paris to satisfy her cake craving.

Kim previously confessed about a time when she took private jet from Los Angeles to Paris simply to satisfy a dessert craving while pregnant with her first child, daughter North, 10.

Now, the old footage has resurfaced, giving the reality star a renewed wave of criticism.

Why Kim Flew To Paris For Cake

Speaking to Vogue in 2015, Kim recounted how she yearned for a particular cheesecake from Hotel Costes in Paris. Although she usually isn’t a fan of cheesecake, she described this one as “heaven.” Desiring what she called her “last hurrah,” Kim decided to fly halfway across the globe on her private jet to indulge in the treat.

Upon arrival, however, she was initially disappointed to learn that the hotel was out of the dessert. Determined, Kim explained her predicament: “I get there, and they tell me they didn’t have it. And I was like, ‘You don’t understand! I leave tomorrow!’”

In response, the hotel staff went out of their way to accommodate her. “I think I flew for one night… And they said ‘OK, we’re going to get it! And they got it and it really made my day,” she recalled.

This revelation recently resurfaced online, leading to widespread criticism on social media platform X, The U.S. Sun notes. One critic wrote, “Kim Kardashian is one person. She’s a spoiled pseudo celebrity.”

Another commented on the absurdity of the situation: “Kim Kardashian flew all the way from LA to Paris just because she wanted to eat a particular cheesecake and then flew back home, and here I am drinking from paper straws to save the world.” A third simply remarked, “Just Kardashian things.”

Celebrities, including the Kardashians, are increasingly criticized for their use of private jets due to the significant environmental impact. Private jets produce disproportionately high carbon emissions compared to commercial flights, contributing to climate change.

Kim isn’t the only one in her family making controversial (and not-so-eco-friendly choices) when it comes to her jet. Similarly, her sister Kylie Jenner was slammed for taking a 17-minute flight on her private jet, a trip that could have been driven in 40 minutes. Such examples underscore the excessive carbon footprint of private jet travel, drawing public ire amid growing concerns about global warming and environmental sustainability.

For now, Kim hasn’t responded to the renewed backlash as the 2015 footage continues to circulate.
