Kody Brown does not appear to have gotten the matching tattoo many family members have gotten ink to honor the late Garrison Brown, Kody’s son with Janelle Brown (they share six kids), who died by suicide earlier this year.
Kody’s exclusion from the family moment signifies his continuing estrangement from many of his kids and former wives.
Garrison tragically took his own life on March 5 at his residence in Flagstaff, Arizona.
His body was discovered by his brother Gabe, who had been sent by Janelle to check on Garrison after he sent a series of alarming text messages to her and members of the Sister Wives crew the previous night. In May, it was revealed Garrison died of a gunshot wound.
Some ‘Sister Wives’ Stars Got Matching Tattoos For Garrison
Recently, Janelle shared some photos on Instagram from a night out with Gabe and her youngest daughter, Savanah Brown. Observant fans noticed a tattoo on Gabe’s arm that seemed to read, “to the stars.” When asked if the tattoo was a tribute to Garrison, Janelle confirmed it was.
“Yes! Many of the kids got a tattoo with some version of that quote,” Janelle responded. “It was one of Garrison’s favorite movies growing up and even as an adult.” She was seemingly referring to the movie Dragonheart , which features the quote that inspired the ink.
Another fan noted in the comments that they had seen a similar-themed tattoo in a recent photo of Paedon Brown, the son of Kody and Christine Brown. Instead of a quote, Paedon appears to have a constellation tattoo on his forearm. It’s unclear if any other family members got the matching tattoo.
How Kody And Janelle’s Son Garrison Died

“Janelle and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown,” Kody said via Instagram when announcing Garrison’s death. “He was such a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him. Our loss will leave such a big hole in our lives, that it takes our breath away. We ask that you please respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory.”
Kody Brown is known for his appearance on the TLC reality show Sister Wives, which aired from 2010 to 2023 over 18 seasons. The show followed Kody and his polygamous family, which at its peak included four wives: Meri (married in 1990), Janelle (married in 1993), Christine (married in 1994), and Robyn (spiritually married in 2010 and legally married in 2014). Together, they share 18 children.
Most of Kody’s marriages have ended in divorce due to a combination of personal conflicts, issues of trust, and differing beliefs about the polygamous lifestyle. Meri and Christine have officially divorced Kody, and Janelle has separated from him. Kody is estranged from several of his children, primarily due to disagreements and the fallout from the breakdown of his marriages.
With Sister Wives officially off the air, fans are now relying on social media to learn more about what’s going on with the television famous family.
