Jennifer Lopez is unfortunately having bad streak when it comes to her career.

Her latest album has been called a flop, while ticket sales for her upcoming tour have reportedly not been going well.

Moreover, rumors have been circulating for months suggesting there’s trouble between Lopez and her husband Ben Affleck.

Some reports even claim the two are headed for divorce, even though they presented a united front during her newly released documentary that promotes her new music.

Now, it appears Lopez may blame Affleck for the low point in her career. If true, this could mean even more trouble for the couple’s relationship.

Lopez’s Career Seemed To Take A Nosedive After Marrying Affleck

PR expert Emily M. Auston recently shared her thoughts on Lopez’s career, alleging things seem to take a nosedive following her Super Bowl documentary Halftime, which released in 2022, the same year she married Affleck.

“Her behaviour seemed uncompromising and whingy, having to share a stage with Shakira,” Auston said of Lopez’s behavior after the show, suggesting it may not have sat right with fans. “Her grievance about it wasn’t expressed eloquently and made her seem unlikable.”

The expert went so far as to say things started going poorly in J.Lo’s career after she married the director, which could create resentment between the two, especially is she sees Affleck as to blame.

“In the shadow of beloved and long suffering Jennifer Garner [Ben Affleck’s ex-wife], much of the imagery we have seen from J Lo has been mundane – car rides with Ben, curb side arguments, fast food takeaways,” Auston went on.

“Often looking miserable. This has shattered the fourth wall, one which we’d all bought into. We didn’t want her to be a normal person,” she added.

Auston further speculated that Lopez may be having trouble attracting a younger audience, while also doing little to engage with her older audience to deepen their connection.

“The big challenge with a star like J Lo is staying power. As her fans have grown older with her, she’s not done a good enough job of engaging with new fans and bringing them on the journey with her,” she continued.

Lopez Canceled Shows As Her Tour Struggles To Sell Tickets

Even J.Lo’s recent business ventures haven’t been received well by fans. She was accused of not using the makeup and skincare products from her own line, and also got flack for promoting a beverage mix when she swears to not drinking alcohol.

“She’s also not moved her origin story on at all. Much of the backlash on TikTok particularly has been as a consequence of her new documentary, billed as a self indulgent, out of touch memoir,” Auston continued.

“It’s like an elaborate LA version of a therapist telling you to go and journal – except this homework was a $20 million self funded timeline of her love life,” the PR expert added.

J.Lo is preparing for her world tour, even if it’s not selling out he way she hopes (she’s even canceled shows as a result of poor sales). It’s unclear if Affleck will join her on tour or if they’re about to embark on long distance. But what’s for sure is that the rumors of relationship problems don’t seem to be dying down any time soon, especially given the recent report.
