Mark Wahlberg makes confession about co-star Halle Berry that likely left his wife uncomfortable

Mark Wahlberg has been married for nearly two decades, and he’s had to work with dozens of female colleagues over his extensive movie career, which hasn’t seemed like a problem for his wife so far.

However, the actor’s recent comments about his co-star Halle Berry may not be sitting well with his partner, given that Mark describes how obsessed he became with Halle while filming.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Wahlberg revealed he was ecstatic to learn he’s been starring opposite Halle in their new Netflix flick The Union, given her acting repertoire and professional experience.

Mark Admits Halle Is In Incredible Shape

“I’ve always been a huge fan of her and an admirer of her work,” Mark said. “Doing anything with Halle is very easy but also an absolute joy. Pretty much any guy or gal would do anything to win her over, so it was certainly easy when it came to me basically following her like a puppy.”

Wahlberg didn’t stop there. Not only did he note that he has amazing chemistry with Halle, but he also said it helps that she’s got an impressive figure.

“There’s a nice balance of humor and action with a story that ultimately relies on our chemistry,” he explained. “She is in incredible shape, and you don’t have to worry about her being believable in those situations.”

In the forthcoming action comedy, Wahlberg takes on the role of a clandestine agent, though it’s a departure from the classic spy archetype. Under the direction of Julian Farino, Wahlberg portrays Mike, a construction worker from New Jersey whose routine existence is disrupted when his former high school sweetheart, Roxanne (played by Halle Berry), resurfaces. In a surprising twist, Roxanne unveils her covert operative identity and enlists Mike’s assistance for a perilous mission.

“When you meet [Mike], he’s still living at home with his mom,” Mark said of his character. “He’s got the same job, same group of friends. Some of which is pretty admirable, having that loyalty to friends and connection to family, but he’s the guy who is scared to branch off.”

He continued, “He got caught up in his surroundings and never really had the courage to step outside of his comfort zone.”

“It evolved, and especially once Halle got involved, it became about a guy who would do anything to impress the love of his life — absolutely anything,” Mark added.

The Union will be available on Netflix on August 16.

Mark’s comments about Halle may have raised a few eyebrows amongst fans, given his comments on her fit figure plus their undeniable chemistry, but his wife hasn’t made any public statements, suggesting she’s not bothered by his interview – or at least doesn’t care to make her feelings known to the world.

Mark has been married to model Rhea Durham since 2009. They have four children together: Ella Rae, born in 2003, Michael, born in 2006, Brendan Joseph, born in 2008, and Grace Margaret, born in 2010.
