Matthew Perry’s Hollywood mansion is now up for sale, and it’s a bittersweet thing. The Friends actor had bought the massive house for $5 million, but sadly he never got to enjoy it, as he died just a few months after buying it, and never lived in it.

The mansion is stunning, a three-bed four-bath home sprawling over 2,566 square feet on a 9,622 square foot lot in the Hollywood Hills. Whoever buys it will get to enjoy a huge swimming pool and fire pit on the south-facing deck.

Matthew Perry bought the house for exactly $4,995,000 last May, and it is now reportedly listed for $5,195,000. The listing agents in charge of the sale, Greg Holcomb and Tim Durkovic of Douglas Elliman, have yet to comment on the subject.

The famous actor shocked the world when he died at just 54 years old. He left behind a hefty inheritance for his parents and siblings, as he didn’t have any children, and that included a lot of properties. It makes sense that the family would start by selling this house, as it was most likely the latest purchase Matthew Perry made, and since he never really lived in that house, there isn’t really any emotional connection to the property.

Matthew Perry passed away in October last year after accidentally drowning in a hot tub due to having taken drugs beforehand. The actor was always very open about his battle with addiction and was on the verge of death several times.

According to Keith Morrison, Matthew Perry’s stepdad, who loved him dearly, the actor had discussed his eventual death a few times and had even speculated about how fans would react. Apparently, the Friends star said that people would probably “be shocked” if he “suddenly died,” but that “not too many people would be surprised. And he was right.”

“We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother,” the family said in a statement to PEOPLE following the actor’s death. “Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend. You all meant so much to him and we appreciate the tremendous outpouring of love.”

His Friends co-stars, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, Courteney Cox, and Lisa Kudrow, also released a heartfelt, joint statement.

“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family,” they wrote. “There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss. In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”
