Meghan Markle has many critics, and her relationship with Prince Harry’s family is reportedly non-existent or arguably strained at best.

She has faced so much backlash from the public for various decisions related to the Royals, and now she is facing criticism once again, this time for her choice of dress during a trip to Nigeria.

Was the cut inappropriate? Was the color offensive? Well, it’s nothing like that. Rather, some people are taking issue with the dress’s name.

According to Page Six, Heidi Merrick’s maxi dress is called “Windsor.” Windsor is the British Royal Family’s official name, something Markle is well aware of. But was her choice of design simply a coincidence, or had she planned to send a subtle message? This is now the question that some fans are asking.

Is Meghan Markle Sending A Message With Her Dress?

There has been chatter about Meghan Markle and her stunning peach-colored dress. Not everyone believes that she chose the dress because it looks great on her. Page Six notes that some feel she did it as a snub. To others, these claims may seem absolutely ridiculous, but many believe that Markle is the reason Prince Harry is not with his family.

“He’s planning to move his family back to England,” a source told Life & Style in March 2024. “When he told Meghan, she was beyond shocked. She can’t believe he’s even considering it!” The Royal reportedly wanted to be close to his loved ones, including his father, King Charles, who was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. “He wants to help out,” the insider said. “Harry apologized to William for all the drama he’s caused, and ever since then, they’ve been in contact a lot more. William has even been encouraging Harry to come back home, too.”

In this article, it was claimed that it was Markle who was holding him back. “Meghan refused to leave California,” the insider alleged. “Harry accused her of having no compassion, and it led to one of the biggest fights they’ve ever had. The situation has been super stressful.” They continued, “Though he would never really leave Meghan and the kids behind, he did threaten he would go to England without her. He feels helpless living so far away as his family is struggling. He can’t stand by and do nothing.”

Did Meghan Markle Want To Leave The Royal Family?

Meghan Markle has been accused of many things, and she is often blamed by many for Prince Harry’s complicated relationship with his family and his decision to leave behind his Royal duties. But old interviews with Harry have suggested he wanted to distance himself from his Royal title before.

According to Express, in 2017, the Duke of Sussex gave an interview to the Daily Mail. In it, he claimed “There was a time when… I wanted out.” In the same interview, he also commented on the pain he endured after his mother, Princess Diana, died when he was a child. And the expectations placed upon him and his brother, Prince William. “William and I were 14 and 12 when our mother died, and I had to walk a long way behind her coffin, surrounded by thousands of people watching me while millions more did on television,” he said. “I don’t think any child should be asked to do that, under any circumstances. It certainly wouldn’t happen today.”
