Country music singer Morgan Wallen has spoken out about his recent arrest in Nashville, Tennessee.
Morgan, 30, was arrested on April 7 for throwing a chair off the roof of a local bar.
He caught three felony charges for his actions, but he remained silent until Friday when he made a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“I didn’t feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks,” the hitmaker began.
“I’ve touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief’s,” referring to the bar where he got arrested.
“I’m not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility,” he continued.
“I have the utmost respect for the officers working every day to keep us all safe,” Morgan wrote in another tweet.
“Regarding my tour, there will be no change. -MW”
According to the arrest report, Morgan was charged with disorderly conduct and two counts of reckless endangerment.
After throwing the chair off the six-story bar Chief’s, the piece of furniture landed only a few feet away from a group of police officers who were standing on the street.
Bystanders claimed that he laughed after he launched the chair.
In his mugshot, he wore a light blue shirt, and his hair was casually pushed back away from his face.
He grinned at the camera like he was taking a photo with a fan.
Footage shared on X showed the singer being escorted into a car following his release from the Metro Nashville Jail after paying a $15,250 bond.
In his statement, Morgan claimed the arrest would not affect his One Night at a Time World Tour.
The tour kicked off at the beginning of April, only a few days before his arrest.
His next show will be on Saturday, April 20, in Oxford, Mississippi.
‘NOT A BIG DEAL’
On social media, Morgan’s fans showed him a lot of grace and forgave his actions.
“It’s not a big deal Bubba. They’re overreacting because of who you are,” one person said.
“All can be forgiven, only if you drop that song you made with Post Malone,” joked another.
“Keep your head up, king. We’ve all had a little too much fun in our youth and had to face the music sometimes. Glad to see you own your mistakes,” a fan added.
Other social media users weren’t willing to let the incident go so easily.
“No, it’s a big deal, had that chair hit someone it could’ve been awful. He’s taking responsibility, which is great.
“When you’re high profile you have to do better,” a critic replied to one of his supporters.
“Maybe don’t let the liquor talk next time,” one user hit back.
