Patrick and Brittany Mahomes are very happy to be having another child, but Patrick has made it clear, both to his wife and to the rest of the world, that after that, he’s not interested in having any more kids.
The 28-year-old NFL player is about to become a father of three, and that’s enough for him.
In a recent press conference, Patrick spoke candidly about fatherhood, his marriage, and his work-life balance.
He also explained why it was so important to him to have children young and how he and Brittany are working on making memories for them.
Patrick Mahomes Is ‘Done’ With Having Kids

During a press conference, the Chiefs quarterback spoke about fatherhood and explained that, while he’s over the moon about Brittany’s pregnancy, it will be the last one.
“I’m done. I’ll say that,” he stated, eliciting laughter from the audience. Apparently, having three children was always the plan. “I said three and I’m done,” he added.
He and Brittany announced that they were expecting a third child in a joint Instagram post. They posted a video that showed them with their two kids, daughter Sterling, who is 3, and son Patrick, who is 18 months old. Their daughter held a sonogram image and the four of them danced together. The video was captioned “Round three, here we come 🤍.”
Despite not wanting any more kids, fatherhood is everything Patrick Mahomes could ever hope for, and while having his third child before turning 30 might seem surprising, he said he always planned it this way.
“I always wanted to have kids young,” he revealed. “I got to grow up in the locker room, I think I’ve talked about it before — it made such an impact in my life, so I wanted to have kids young.”
Patrick Mahomes Praised Brittany As A Wife And Mother

Patrick Mahomes couldn’t be happier with his home life, and he’s grateful to his wife and high school sweetheart Brittany for building such a nice family with him. During that same press conference, Patrick gushed about how Brittany “does a great job” as a wife and mother, and how the two of them make an effort to keep the romance alive despite being involved parents.
He talked proudly about their family adventures and how they want to build memories for their children from a young age.
“We still go out and enjoy our life and let our kids see these great things,” Patrick said. He knows the little ones “might not be able to remember,” but they make sure to document their family trips so they can watch the footage when they’re older.
About having a work-life balance, the NFL player explained that, because the football season is so demanding, he makes sure to be 100% present at home when he has the time.
“It is really cool ‘cause I spend so much time in the building at football for these eight, seven months, and whenever I’m with my family, I wanna enjoy those moments.”
The Mahomes will soon become (and stay) a family of five, and their children are very lucky to have such loving parents.
