The royal family is going through a lot right now, especially Prince William.
Not only did he recently lose his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, pushing him closer to assuming the throne, but he continues to deal with the estrangement of his brother, Prince Harry, from the entire family.
Moreover, William is also navigating his family’s health challenges, as both his wife, Kate Middleton, and father, King Charles, are undergoing treatment for cancer.
Few details are available about their diagnoses or prospects, leading fans to question how the royals are handling things.
A new report claims that, though he’s putting on a brave face publicly, Prince William’s mental health is suffering, especially as the anniversary of his mother Princess Diana’s death passed on July 1.
William Is Struggling With The Anniversary Of Diana’s Death
“The anniversary is obviously always a very sensitive time for William and it is such a shame that he cannot share his feelings with the only other human being on earth who really knows what it was like to lose Diana: his brother, Harry,” royal commenter Jennie Bond recently told OK! Magazine.
Based on William’s body language, the expert theorizes that he feels very lonely at the present, and not having his brother Prince Harry to rely on during trying times is likely exacerbating the pain.
“There have been times in this past year when William has looked incredibly alone, shouldering the responsibility of being a son whose father has cancer, a husband caring for his wife as she also deals with cancer, a father of three young children… and who has no brother or mother to turn to for a bit of TLC,” Bond continued.
Why Kate Is Reportedly Proud Of William
Though Kate is dealing with her own health struggles, Bond says she expects the princess has been a source of comfort for William.
“I’m sure the princess would be immensely proud to see how courageously William has faced up to all that has happened in the past few months,” she added.
Kate’s public appearances have been limited during her treatment, but William hasn’t shied away from the public eye. He even posted for a selfie alongside Taylor Swift and her boyfriend Travis Kelce while attending a London Eras show with his two oldest children. Middleton didn’t make it out for the evening.
Kate and William’s relationship began during their university years at St. Andrews in 2001. After a long courtship, they announced their engagement in November 2010 and were married in a grand ceremony at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011. The couple welcomed their first child, Prince George, in 2013, followed by Princess Charlotte in 2015, and Prince Louis in 2018.
Though Kate recently gave a public update explaining that she’s been doing well amid her cancer battle, she’s still undergoing treatment.
