Rob Schneider openly criticized Will Smith for being a fraud, while Adam Sandler agreed with Chris Rock’s harsh joke assessment

He’s back in the spotlight following a hiatus.

In terms of Will Smith’s actual approach, he seems like the Will of old, promoting Bad Boys alongside Martin Lawrence.

However, some of his peers aren’t necessarily jumping for joy over his return.

One of those people is Rob Schneider, who recently unleashed on Smith.

Schneider had to keep quiet due to his involvement with SAG-AFTRA. That all changed most recently.

Rob Schneider slams 'a--hole' Will Smith in scathing radio rant: 'Hiding the fact of who he really is'

We’re going to take a look at what Schneider had to say, and how Adam Sandler’s past comments about Will Smith and Chris Rock’s situation recently resurfaced. In addition, we’ll reveal other major names that have gone against Will Smith, and that includes comedy legend Jim Carrey.

Rob Schneider Called Will Smith A Fraud, While Adam Sandler Agreed In 2023 That Chris Rock’s Joke Wasn’t Harsh

Will Smith is back. During her promotional tour for Bad Boys, Smith has appeared on several top tier shows, including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and Hot Ones alongside Sean Evans. One thing is evident given the interviews, and it is that Will Smith is keeping certain matters quiet. Smith has yet to be asked about Jada, while the Oscar slap has never been mentioned either.

However, it hasn’t been completely smooth for Smith. Rob Schneider recently made headlines, slamming Smith for “hiding who he really is.” Schneider was unable to speak about the matter for years given that he was an elected official for SAG-AFTRA. However, he revealed his true feelings on The Kyle & Jackie O show.

“Will Smith has been hiding the fact of who he really is and it was exposed that night that he’s really an a–hole. Complete, utter fraud.”

“Will is a douchebag,” Schneider said. “The thing is that’s how politically correct the Academy is. That they were so cowardly because if I would have done that, they would have been hauled off to prison.”

It shouldn’t come as a surprise, but back in 2023, Adam Sandler reacted to Chris Rock’s Will and Jada joke. Similar to Schneider, he sided with Chris Rock, who’s also a close friend.

“Never thought that in my life,” Sandler replied to Chris, going too far during his Netflix special. “I thought he was unbelievably relaxed, funny, thoughtful. Crushed it and was real to himself.”

Sandler added, “And it was as exciting to watch as when the Super Bowl is on. I thought about it all weekend. ‘All right, Rock is doing his thing tonight!’ Saturday, watched it in my kitchen, laughed my ass off, immediately watched it right after. It was one of the best experiences. I thought it was amazing.”

Will Smith says bottled rage led him to slap Chris Rock at the Oscars

Smith hasn’t responded to Schneider’s claims, and we assume his PR team is keeping him as far away as possible from the claims.

Sandler’s assessment was tame in comparison to Jim Carrey, who called the industry “spineless.” Similar to Schneider, Carrey spoke out towards the reaction Smith got, getting an ovation despite the slap taking place.

Jim Carrey
  • “I was sickened. I was sickened by the standing ovation. I felt like Hollywood is just spineless en masse. And it really felt like this is a really clear indication that we’re not the cool club anymore.”
  • “Will has something going on inside him that’s frustrated. And I wish him the best, I really do. I don’t have anything against Will Smith. He’s done great things, but that was not a good moment. It cast a pall over everybody’s shining moment last night.”
  • Carrey concludes, “I’d have announced this morning that I was suing Will for 200 million dollars, because that video is going to be there forever. It’s going to be ubiquitous. That insult is going to last a very long time. If you want to yell from the audience or disapprove or show disapproval, or say something on Twitter or whatever. You do not have the right to walk up on stage and smack somebody in the face because they said words.”

Carrey received a massive amount of support for speaking his truth, especially fresh out of the incident when several stars in Hollywood wouldn’t speak about the matter. Will Smith did not comment on Carrey’s reaction.
