Controversial Teen Mom star Ryan Edwards is demanding the court make his ex-wife Mackenzie Standifer let him see his kids, despite his criminal history and substance abuse issues.
According to court documents obtained by The Ashley, Ryan has filed a motion requesting that a judge establish a temporary parenting plan to ensure he can visit their son Jagger and daughter Stella.

Mackenzie Allegedly Won’t Let Ryan See Their Kids

The “Motion to Adopt a Temporary Parenting Plan,” submitted by Ryan and his attorney, asserts that he had been seeing their kids at the home of his mother, Jen Edwards, until Mackenzie allegedly stopped allowing the children to visit him there.
“Mother has recently refused to allow Father to exercise any parenting time with the minor children,” the documents state. “This is not in the children’s best interest.”
The last time Ryan saw his kids was allegedly a few weeks ago. His new girlfriend, Amanda, was apparently present, which may have not sat well with Mackenzie, who’s been dropping not-so-subtle shade at her estranged husband’s new girlfriend on social media in recent weeks. Amanda and Ryan met while in rehab.
Ryan is currently asking the judge to implement a plan that mandates Mackenzie grant him access to the kids. Additionally, he is seeking to have Mackenzie cover the legal fees and expenses resulting from this filing.
While it appears Mackenzie has not yet responded to Ryan’s request, the former couple is scheduled to meet in court in July to address the issue.
Mackenzie And Ryan’s Divorce Keeps Getting Messier

Mackenzie filed for divorce from Ryan in September, allegedly leading him to completely trash the home they once shared in a fit of anger. She exposed the damage in pictures posted to social media, also including shots of threatening messages he wrote on the wall. She was granted a temporary restraining order against him, though he maintained visitation rights to their kids.
Ryan and Mackenzie’s divorce remains ongoing, though it appears to be getting more complicated. Unfortunately, this isn’t the only custody battle he’s fought.
Ryan gained fame on MTV’s Teen Mom, but he has a well-documented history of legal troubles and substance abuse issues. He first appeared on the show as the ex-boyfriend of Maci Bookout, with whom he shares a son, Bentley, born in 2008. Their tumultuous relationship ended in 2010, and since then, they’ve faced ongoing custody disputes, with Maci often raising concerns about Ryan’s behavior and its impact on Bentley.
Ryan’s legal and substance abuse problems have been extensive. He has faced multiple arrests for drug-related offenses, including heroin possession in 2017 and probation violations in 2018 and 2019. In March 2021, Ryan was arrested again for possession of a controlled substance and violating probation.
In addition to his issues with the law, Ryan has made threats against Maci, leading to a restraining order she filed in 2018 to protect herself and Bentley. Despite these challenges, Ryan moved on and married Mackenzie in 2017.
Their relationship has also faced public scrutiny, partly due to Ryan’s ongoing legal and substance abuse issues. And unfortunately, it seems the drama continues as they former couple navigate their divorce and custody battle.
