Britney Spears and Sam Asghari’s divorce was finalized last months after half a year of negotiating.
Despite reports that things got tense, Sam has only had positive things to say about his famous ex-wife, even as her escalating behavior apparently worries her team and fans alike.
Now, a new report says the personal trainer agreed to a gag order during the divorce process, which prevents him from sharing details of his relationship with Britney.
This explains why he’s been noticeably silent despite the break-down of their marriage less than two years after tying the knot.
Sam Isn’t Allowed To Discuss Britney At All
TMZ reports that Asghari is preparing to join the cast of The Traitors, but there are strict conditions attached to his appearance. He has been explicitly instructed not to mention his ex-wife on the reality TV show.
Sources informed the outlet that Sam is under “pretty much a gag order” regarding the pop star. As he participates in Peacock’s popular competition series, he’s forbidden from discussing Britney or any aspects of her life.
An insider commented, “It’s clear Britney doesn’t want a peep out of Sam about her,” further noting that he is not permitted to say anything about her, even if it is complimentary.
Sam’s Subtle Reaction To Britney’s Hotel Fight
This may explain why Asghari failed to comment on the explosive fight Britney got into at Chateau Marmont wth her controversial new boyfriend Paul Richard Soliz. The singer was seeing being escorted out of the hotel barely clothed after paramedics were called. She later confirmed suffering an ankle injury, but denied her boyfriend’s involvement. Instead, Britney slammed the medics for invading her privacy and placed the blame on her mother, Lynne Spears.
Speaking to Us Weekly, a source said Sam finds the situation “heartbreaking,” but there’s little he can do for his ex. “Sam will always have a soft spot for Britney and will always be protective over her,” they said.
The source added, “Sam is a helper and was there for her in her hardest times. He hopes she is okay.”
Despite his supportive role in the past, the insider revealed that the former couple “don’t communicate” anymore. Sam finds this lack of communication “definitely worrisome.”
The insider did not comment on Britney’s new boyfriend, Richard Paul Soliz, who previously worked for her and has a criminal record that has alarmed both her fans and her team. Her team is reportedly wary of his intentions.
“Sam has been down this road with Britney before and knows how she is,” the source continued. “[He] feels terrible if she is not surrounded by positive people in her life.”
Britney Spears met Sam Asghari in October 2016 on the set of her music video for “Slumber Party,” where Asghari was cast as her love interest. They began dating shortly after, making their relationship Instagram official in early 2017. They tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in June 2022, only for Sam to file for divorce from Britney in September 2023.
