Paris Hilton has experience backlash for her parenting on multiple occasions, which is part of the reason she kept her daughter’s identity hidden online, up until recently.
However, the reality star may be regretting her decision to debut London to the world, as she’s now getting backlash for a joke she made at her daughter’s expense.
In a TikTok featuring her 6-month-old daughter, Paris said she wanted to get her baby a spray tan since she’s so pale, a light-hearted reference to Paris and her mother’s known affinity for unnatural tans.
Why Paris Says She Wants To Spray Tan Her Baby
“I got a spray tan last night and she’s like, ‘The usual?’ And I was like, ‘Yes!’ Because usually I like to be really tan. But I wasn’t thinking about you,” Hilton, 43, said. “You’re so pale!”
Turning her attention to her daughter, Paris then remarked, “You’ve never been in the sun and I can’t spray tan you. Can you? Just kidding. It’s Tan Luxe. It’s natural.”
She also referenced the joke in the TikTok’s caption, writing, “Counting down the days until I can teach Baby London about the art of a @Tan_Luxe spray tan!”
While Paris seemed to make the comment as a joke, not everyone took it that way. Some of the comments said they didn’t see the humor in Paris’ comment, or even more, they worried that the socialite was already pushing unrealistic and harmful beauty standards on her little girl.
Then again, plenty of the comments were positive and enjoyed Paris’ humorous take on motherhood and beauty, with many comments saying it feels full circle to see Hilton being a mom after growing up with her.

For now, Paris hasn’t responded to the drama her TikTok stirred, but she only recently started showcasing baby London on social media, a decision that was sparked by backlash she faced when her son, Phoenix, made his debut online.
“Introducing London Marilyn Hilton-Reum, I’ve dreamed of having a daughter named London for as long as I can remember. I’m so grateful she is here. I truly cherish every moment I spend with her,” Paris wrote in the post introducing her daughter, shared last month.
“Together with Phoenix, my angel babies have shown me a love that I never even knew could run so deep before I became their mother,” she went on.
Shortly before sharing the images to IG, Paris opened up about the judgement she’s faced as a famous mother, specifically referring to comments made about her son’s appearance. Last year, she slammed so-called fans for speculating about Phoenix, insisting her son is well taken care of.
“Living life in the spotlight, comments are inevitable, but targeting my child, or anyone else’s for that matter, is unacceptable. This hurts my heart more deeply than words can describe,” she wrote via her Instagram Story.
At least, nowadays, it appears that Paris isn’t letting the haters stop her from posting what she wants.
