After a decade of marriage, Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman rocked Hollywood by separating in 2001.
Still today, over two decades later, the two are all over the media together. This time, Kidman and Cruise are making noise for attending the Olympics in Paris, France.
Simone Biles seems to be a common point of interest for celebs thus far.
Some of the biggest names in entertainment attended her return, and that included both Kidman and Cruise. They were both in the same arena, but missed out on one another.
Let’s recap how it all went down, and what the former couple have said about one another in recent years.
Tom Cruise And Nicole Kidman Both Took In Simone Biles At The Olympics, But Just Avoided Running Into One Another
Both Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman avoided an awkward run-in at the Olympics. Both are enjoying time in France’s capital. The mutual interest? Watching Simone Biles and her highly anticipated return. Both were in the same arena, with just two days difference. Biles and the gymnastics team managed to secure gold in the end. Cruise and Kidman haven’t seen each other in years. Putting things into context, none of the two took part in their daughter’s wedding years ago.
Despite the moment, the reaction to Tom Cruise at the Olympics has been extremely positive, with fans sharing pictures on X of their encounters with the star.
Cruise and Kidman were far from the only stars to take part in Biles’ return to the Olympic stage. Snoop Dogg, Greta Gerwig, Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, Nick Jonas and Anna Wintour were also in the crowd for Biles’ competition. Sports certainly unite people, but it wasn’t enough to unite Tom and Nicole…
Nicole Kidman Has Been More Vocal Than Tom Cruise In Recent Times Looking Back At Their Relationship
Tom Cruise really hasn’t said much in terms of his relationship with Nicole Kidman. He snapped at reporters long ago for bringing it up. Nowadays, Tom really isn’t asked. On the flip side, Kidman has opened up, and she was surprisingly smiling, speaking about her ex.
Kidman detailed her time alongside Cruise during Day Of Thunder. “I remember walking in, I remember being so nervous and seeing Tom Cruise drive up in a Porsche, I think it was,” Kidman recalled alongside People.
“He got out of the car and walked through and I was like, ‘Ah.’ My jaw dropped.” She continues, “Then I had to go in and audition in front of [director] Tony Scott … [producers] Don Simpson, Jerry Bruckheimer, Robert Towne and Tom. I was like, ‘No way, I’m not going to get this.’ They called that afternoon and I had the job.”
Fans were appreciative of Kidman taking the high road, and speaking fondly of her ex. One user wrote, “Respect to her for talking about him so kindly. It’s never easy talking about an ex.”
Kidman also revealed about the relationship. Kidman told Harper’s Bazaar she offered it up to media scrutiny during her time with Tom.
“I was young. I think I offered it up? Maybe I’ve gotten a bit more trepidatious, but I’m always trying to be as open as possible. I just prefer to live in the world that way. I’m wary at times, and I’ve been hurt, but at the same time I much prefer a warm approach rather than a prickly shutdown approach.”
Kidman has changed her ways today, and is much more private in regard to her relationship with Keith Urban.
