Now that Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas are officially over, the actress isn’t afraid to open up about what happened during their marriage, including her hesitation to become a mom at such a young age.

In fact, the Game of Thrones alum admitted she initially considered terminating her pregnancy with the oldest daughter she shares with Joe, though she ultimately decided against it.

Sophie Says Talking To Joe Convinced Her To Keep It

While speaking to Vogue, Sophie revealed the challenge of becoming a mother at the age of 24, when she discovered she was expecting her first child, Willa. Reflecting on her initial reaction, the now-28-year-old said, “Maybe because I was so young, I sat on it for a week.”

“Thankfully there were therapists there to help me talk things through,” she said, explaining how she chose to keep the pregnancy.

Sophie admitted Joe was more ready to become a father than she was, likely due to their age difference. But after talking through it with her then-husband, Turner says the decision to have her baby became clear.

“I remember throwing the pregnancy test at him, saying, ‘What do you think we should do? Do you think we should have it?’” she confessed. “When you’re in your early 20s, life is so frivolous.”

Before, Sophie said she didn’t know if she “wanted to be a mother,” but says “something changed” after talking with Jonas. “I just knew had to have her,” the British native continued.

Joe’s New Girlfriend Was Recently Accused Of Being Pregnant

Sophie and Joe welcomed their daughter Willa in 2020, and it wasn’t long afterwards that their daughter, Delphine, was born in 2022. Sophie’s revelation about being unsure if she wants kids may come as a surprise to some, considering how quickly they added baby no. 2 to the mix. But Sophie told Vogue she wanted her daughter to have a sibling close in age.

“Because my ex and I travel so much, I wanted Willa to have a sibling,” Sophie said. “I wanted them to have each other. They’re so much fun, total girlie girls and absolute rays of sunshine in my life.”

Back in September 2023, Jonas initiated divorce proceedings against Turner following their four-year marriage, triggering a custody dispute between the former couple, as they argued whether their kids should remain in the U.S. or U.K. (where Sophie says they were planning to move to before their split).

Following mediation sessions, Turner and Jonas managed to broker a temporary custody arrangement.

Their divorce has not been finalized, nor has a permanent custody agreement. But there have been reports Joe is already thinking of expanding his family with his new girlfriend Stormi Bree, who already has one child.

Last month, some fans thought they spotted a baby bump in Stormi’s photo, though no official announcement has been revealed. But amid reports the pair are getting serious, and Joe is gearing up to introduce Stormi to his kids, perhaps it’s only a matter of time.
